Shosuke Tanihara's wife pregnant with their 6th child

On January 6, it was announced that actor Tanihara Shosuke's wife is pregnant with their sixth child. She is currently 5-6 months pregnant, and is due sometime in April.

Tanihara is currently a father to 3 sons and 2 daughters. Among neighborhood residents, he's rumored to be an 'ikumen' (a man who enjoys childrearing) and is often seen attending his children's school events as well as local events. A good friend of his said, "He's a really good father. He's delighted that his family will grow even bigger. Right now, he's looking forward to the birth of his sixth child."

Not only his private life, but his career is also going very well. This year marks his 20th anniversary since his acting debut. He will star in the upcoming dramas 'Keibuho�ESugiyama Shintaro ~Kichijoji-sho Jiken File' (TBS, January 12 premiere) and 'Genkai Shuraku Kabushiki Kaisha' (NHK, January 31 premiere).

Tanihara and his wife married back in 2007.

Tanihara Shosuke has welcomed his 6th child, a baby girl, earlier this month.

Now a father of 3 boys and 3 girls, Tanihara expressed, "My 6th child was born safely. Both mother and child are healthy."

Tanihara announced his wife's pregnancy during an event for his drama back in January. On his newborn baby girl, he said, "She's like a lovely flower that will brighten up the family." He added, "I will continue to do my best for my family and work, so please support me."

Shosuke Tanihara to star in TV Tokyo 2016 Spring drama

Tanihara Shosuke will be starring in the TV Tokyo Spring 2016 drama "Doctor Chousahan ~ Iryo Jiko no Yami wo Abake ~" (Doctor Investigative Unit ~ Exposing the darkness of medical accidents ~) which will begin its run from April in the Fridays 8pm timeslot.

Tanihara who celebrated his 20th anniversary as an actor last year, plays the role of the leader who is also a digestive system surgeon in a fictitious organisation "Iryo Jiko Chousa Iinkai" (Investigation committee of medical accidents) which is made up of doctors and lawyers who infiltrate hospitals and medical institutions suspected of being involved in medical accidents and tries to find out the truth behind the cases. This drama is especially timely as there was a new system set up in Japan last October to investigate medical accidents and how to prevent them.

This is the first time 18 years since Tanihara acted in a TV Tokyo drama when he appeared in the 1998 drama "Nanase Futatabi".
