SPEED's Takako Uehara gets first starring movie role in "Koitanibashi"

SPEED member Takako Uehara has been given her first starring role in a movie. She will headline the cast of "Koitanibashi: La Vallee de l'amour," directed by Koichi Goto, set for release this summer.

As an actress, Uehara won a Japan Academy Prize Rookie of the Year award for her role in the 1999 movie "Dream Maker." She has appeared in several other films since then, with her last one being the 2008 movie "Yume no Manimani."

In "Koitanibashi," Uehara plays Tomoko, a young woman who had headed to Tokyo to pursue her dreams but returns in frustration to her hometown. There, she becomes an okami (proprietress) at a hot spring inn and turns her life around. The story is based on "Ame no Naka no Hatsukoi: First Love in the Rain," a script that won the 1st Super Scenario Grand Prix.

Producers chose the Tottori prefecture for filming, which took place in November and December of last year.

Uehara's supporting cast includes Kensei Mikami, Miyuki Matsuda, Ichiro Ogura, Yuko Nakazawa, Hassei Takano, Mayuko Iwasa, Daijiro Kawaoka, Anna Tsuchiya, Shingo Katsurayama, Renji Ishibashi, Kazuko Yoshiyuki, and Hiroki Matsukata.

Some new mag scans of Takako, don't notice her as much as the other Speed members but she's sure grown into quite an attractive lady.

SPEED�fs Uehara Takako attended the stage greeting at the opening day of her movie, �gKoitanibashi�g, along with co-star Mikami Kensei and director Goto Koichi.

In �gKoitanibashi�h, Uehara portrays a young woman who returns from Tokyo to Tottori prefecture after losing her job. She then undertakes the mission of reviving her parents�f inn at the Misasa Onsen (hot spring), and eventually becomes its mistress. The story was based off of �gAme no Naka no Hatsukoi First Love in the Rain�g, which was the winner of 2008�fs �eThe 1st Super Scenario Grand Pix�e.

Uehara, who also celebrates her first starring role with this movie, commented, �gMisasa is a place where can forget to bring a long a lunch box, but you better not forget your umbrella. It really did rain a lot and I often went into the onsen when I was getting cold. The filming was tough, but thanks to the Misasa Onsen it actually felt like I was getting more healthier.�h Further she added, �gEveryone in the town helped out with the filming, which is why it became such a perfect movie.�h

The singer/actress also revealed that her fellow SPEED members have yet to watch the movie. She said, �gI think none of them have been to Misasa yet, so I�fd like to go there will all of them and act like their guide. We always talk about, how we�fve never been on a private trip together. We only travel the country together when we are having a live tour.�h

About her role as a chef in the movie, Uehara said, �gIn private I basically don�ft cook at all, but thanks to the coaching of a master chef I somehow was able to do it. The Tottori dialect was extremely difficult as well, but I�fve tried my best while studying the dialect of the locals.�h

Director Goto commented, �gThe opening day is always exciting. It feels like our child is finally able to walk on his own. I hope this movie will be able to give a lot of people strength.�h

Takako Uehara to appear in episode 8 of "Kizoku Tantei"


Uehara Takako will be appearing in Ep 8 of FujiTV Spring 2017 drama "Kizoku Tantei" . She plays the role of Nirayama Hitomi who is an assistant professor and the senior of Takatoku Aika (Takei Emi) during their university days. They used to be belong to the mystery research club. In conjunction with her role's setting as a leading researcher of fungi, Uehara will sport a mushroom-cut hairstyle in the drama.

In Ep 8, Hitomi invites Aika to meet her at the university where she works at now. Going back to campus, Aika is filled with nostalgic memories of their days back in university. To her surprise, Aika finds Kizoku Tantei (Aiba Masaki) at Hitomi's office and finds out that he met Hitomi at a party and was invited to come and see a new type of mushroom which Hitomi had discovered. Just then, they find that a student of Hitomi's research class has been murdered...

Uehara commented that she was happy to be given a chance to participate in the filming and meet the charismatic cast members. As for working with Aiba for the first time, she revealed that her impression of him was exactly the same as what she saw and it was easy to chat with him since they are of the same age. With regard to putting on the mushroom-style wig, Uehara admitted that she wasn't used to it at first but gradually grew accustomed to it that by the end of the filming, she found her original hairstyle to be odd instead.

Takako Uehara marries director Kazuya Kou

On October 10th, director Kazuya Kou announced that he has married actress Takako Uehara.

He wrote, "I have already registered my marriage with the woman I have been dating for some time. We have also been blessed with a long desired baby. No matter what anyone thinks, my wife and I will protect our child."

Kou and Uehara's relationship has already been reported about by some tabloid magazines.

Uehara was previously married to ET-KING's TENN who passed away in 2014.
