^ Yes and two of my favourites in 1 series: Fukuyama and Amami Yuuki. I watched Amalfi too, but they didn't really have scenes together.

A happy belated birthday to her! Sent her a card through her agency. I know, fangirl Bonk

Yuki Amami to be a detective in upcoming drama

Amami Yuki will be starring in TV Asahi's new drama "Kinkyu Torishirabeshitsu" that is scheduled to air starting in January.

Amami who cut 20 cm of her hair first time in 10 years for the drama, will be playing a detective.

"Kinkyu Torishirabeshitsu" is an original story written by a scriptwriter Inoue Yumiko ("GOOD LUCK!!", "Shiroi Kyoto", "14-sai no Haha"), and it's a new type of detective drama which takes place in the interrogation room.

The protagonist named "Makabe Yukiko" (Amami) is a female detective. She's helped crack various cases, and worked her way up to her position of being the first female chief on the Special Investigation Team of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. However, she assumes full responsibility for the mismanagement in a certain case, and is ordered to transfer to a special team in crime squad 1 of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, called, "Kinkyu Jian Torishirabe Taio-han (Urgent case investigation correspondence squad)" --commonly called as 'Kintori'-- which is the team that interrogates suspects.

Makabe seeks the truth behind the cases, and eventually, she unveils a "shocking fact" in an unsolved case from the past.

Other "Kintori" members include Tanaka Tetsushi, Kohinata Fumiyo, Osugi Ren, and Denden. Hayami Mokomichi and Suzuki Kosuke will play detectives in crime squad 1 who have hostility toward the 'Kintori' team. Sasai Eisuke and Kusakari Masao will also be appearing in the drama.

"Kinkyu Torishirabeshitsu" will air every Thursday at 9:00 pm on TV Asahi.

Yuki Amami to star in FujiTV 2016 Fall drama

Amami Yuki will be starring in the FujiTV Autumn 2016 drama "Chef ~ Mitsuboshi no Kyuushoku ~" (Chef ~ The 3-starred school lunch) which will begin its run from October in the Thursdays 10pm timeslot. The drama is based on an original script written by Hamada Hideya whose last work was "Naomi to Kanako" shown in winter this year.

Amami will play the role of Hoshino Mitsuko who is the executive chef of a Michelin three-starred French restaurant in Ginza and creates many ingenious dishes with her creativity and sensitive taste buds. However, due to a clash with the restaurant owner, she is fired from her job and has difficulty finding another position due to her pride as a celebrated chef. When Hoshino gets invited to prepare a school lunch for a primary school during a TV show, she fails miserably at impressing the children and this ends up being broadcast nationwide. Despite so, Hoshino decides to regain the stars she had lost by attempting to create delicious school lunches while coping with obstacles such as nutrition concerns, cost and taste bud differences between adults and children.

As Amami has to film many cooking scenes in this drama, she said that she plans to do as many of these scenes herself. This happens to be her first role as a chef where she had to wear a 34-cm tall cook's hat while shooting the poster for this drama. Amami said that when she was a kid, she already helped her parents with the cooking and cooked her own meals when she was in the Takarazuka. Even while she was busy with the filming of dramas, she would cook curries or soup-based dishes which could be heated up easily and makes pickles and umeboshi which she would store in tupperware boxes. Amami joked that although she is not great at cooking, she has to do it since she lives alone. However, she has never cooked French cuisine before so the reporters suggested that she should ask her junior from the same agency i.e. Hayami Mokomichi for help to which she said that she might resort to doing so. In preparation for the filming which begins in early September, Amami has been visiting some high-class restaurants and going for cooking class at Tsuji Chef Specialist School.

Yuki Amami to star in movie "Chia Dan - Joshikousei ga chidansu de zenbei seihashichatta honto no hanashi"

Amami Yuki and Hirosue Suzu will be working together in the upcoming movie "Chia Dan ~ Joshikousei ga chiadansu de zenbei seihashichatta honto no hanashi" (Cheerleading Dance ~ The true story of how a senior high school girl conquers the whole of America with cheerleading dance) which will be shown in cinemas next March. The movie is based on the true story of how Fukui Commerical High School's cheerleading dance team "JETS" won the NDA National Championship in March 2009 in just three years since it was set up.

Hirose plays a first-year senior high school student Hikari who belongs to the cheerleading team which is subjected to the tough training and rules imposed by their advisor Saotome Kaoruko (Amami). Amami who had expressed strong interest in playing the character based on JETS' real coach Igarashi Yuko, agreed to the offer immediately and commented that the young actors like Hirose worked very hard to practice the cheerleading dances and she was really pleased to see how much they had improved in just a few months. During the filming in May this year, JETS and Igarashi went to Niigata to meet the cast where Amami observed how Igarashi treated her students strictly but with love so as to prepare for her character.

Co-stars also include Nakajo Ayami, Yamazaki Hirona, Fukuhara Haruka and Minamino Saki. Before filming was done in May and June this year, the actresses playing the cheerleading team members went through a few months of intensive dance training.

Yuki Amami to star in TV Asahi drama "Kinkyuu Torishirabeshitsu 2"

Amami Yuki will be starring in the upcoming TV Asahi Spring 2017 drama "Kinkyuu Torishirabeshitsu 2" (Emergency Interrogation Room) which continues from the first series in Winter 2014 and the 2-hour SP in September 2015 and will begin its run from April 2017 in the Thursdays 9pm timeslot. The script will be written by Inoue Yumiko and in tune with the times since the law dictates now that all interrogations have to be video-taped, the drama will also introduce this into the story. The theme of the second season focuses on ordinary people being the most frightening when they cross the line to venture into the world of crime.

Amami plays the role of Makabe Yukiko, a police detective who was posted to the Kintori (Kinkyuu Jian Taiou Torishirabehan) which handles tricky interrogations of suspects and criminals within the confines of the interrogation room. As such, they have nothing but their wits to engage in a psychological war with those being questioned. The first series achieved an average rating of 12.9% which led to the production of the SP and now Part 2. Besides Amami, her colleagues in Kintori will also appear in Part 2 including Tanaka Tetsushi, Denden, Oosugi Ren and Kohinata Fumio as well as Hayami Mokomichi and Suzuki Kosuke who form the detective duo nicknamed Motsunabe from the murder investigation unit working with Kintori. Ookura Koji who first appeared in the SP as the director of the criminal investigation unit will also be featured in Part 2.

Although it has been some time since the filming for the last series, the cast including Amami, Tanaka, Kohinata and Hayami meet up several times a year for meals where they constantly talk about doing a Season 2 for the drama and share ideas with one another. As such, Amami commented that they are all very happy to be able to work together again in this drama. In preparation for the filming, Amami who cut her long hair by 20cm for the previous series, went further this time by cutting her hair by 25cm and sporting a fringe so as to project a new image of her character. Amami said that if there is going to be Season 3 in future, she wouldn't mind cutting her hair again for it. Due to the number of interrogation scenes, there are a lot of lines to remember but Amami revealed that the content is so interesting that it will be a breeze going through them.
