Yoshitaka Yuriko to appear in Korean drama

On August 29th, it was revealed that actress Yoshitaka Yuriko will be making an appearance in the Korean drama �gVampire Prosecutor 2�g.

Yoshitaka commented, �gRecently I have been really interested in Asian dramas, and this drama that I encountered has the best timing. I�fm currently in the middle of shooting, and I�fm struggling with it, but it�fs for me to step up as an actress.�h

�gVampire Prosecutor 2�� is an investigative drama in which a prosecutor, played by Yun Jung Hoon, suddenly becomes a vampire. She then tries to solve several mysterious cases by utilizing his ability as a vampire.

Yoshitaka will play the best fortune teller in Japan who analyzes the colors of people�fs aura and reads tarot cards. Her first appearance will be on the second episode, and she will also make an appearance after the ninth episode as well.

�gVampire Prosecutor 2�� will begin airing on OCN starting on September 9th in Korea.

Yuriko Yoshitaka to star in NTV 2017 Winter drama

Yoshitaka Yuriko will be starring in the new NTV Winter 2017 drama "Tokyo Tarareba Musume" (Tokyo What If Girls) which will begin its run from January 2017 in the Wednesdays 10pm timeslot. This marks her first drama appearance in two years and three months since the NHK morning drama "Hanako to Anne" in 2014.

The love-comedy drama which is based on the same-titled manga by Higashimura Akiko and had sold more than 1.8 million copies to date, features Yoshitaka as Kamata Rinko, a scriptwriter in her 30s who is facing a bottleneck at work and has no boyfriend. She spends her nights having girls-only gatherings with her buddy at an izakaya while lamenting about the "what ifs" in her life and how things will turn out better if certain things or conditions are fulfilled. For example, if she is prettier, she would be able to find a good man. If she falls in love with someone, she would be able to get married. If she puts in effort, she can get anything she wants in her life. All of a sudden, she realises that she still hasn't matured as a woman despite having entered her 30s as she reflects on her inadequacies.

Yoshitaka recounted that when she read the original manga, she could not stop laughing as the story pointed out a lot of things which really hit home for her. She commented that Rinko keeps talking about the what ifs during her gatherings but does not take any concrete action to turn things around which leads her to think that she's somewhat like Rinko as well. As for acting in a drama after such a long break, Yoshitaka said that she is looking forward to acting as Rinko and asked for the viewers to wait till January when the drama begins its run.

Yuriko Yoshitaka to star in new movie "Yurigokoro"

Yoshitaka Yuriko will be starring in the upcoming mystery movie "Yurigokoro" (Lily Heart) directed by Kumazawa Naoto which will be shown in cinemas in September next year.

The movie is based on the same-titled novel by Numata Mahokaru that was published in 2011 and had sold more than 250,000 copies to date. It was also nominated for the Ooyabu Haruhiko Award and Honya Taisho award in 2012 and was ranked No.5 in the same year's "Kono mystery ga sugoi!" ranking. This will be Yoshitaka's first leading role in a movie in 5 years since 2012's "Bokura ga ita" which she co-starred with Ikuta Toma and she will be playing a murderer for the first time. Filming lasted for one month from early September to mid October this year.

One day, a family comes to find a diary belonging to someone from their dying father's study which describes how the person killed multiple people but they are unable to tell if this is a fictional story or a real account by the person and why this was written. Yoshitaka plays the heroine Misako described in the diary who is destined to kill people so as to be at peace with herself emotionally. However, when she comes to understand what true love is, she tries to fight against her fate and struggles with the resulting internal turmoil.

Yoshitaka commented that her character is someone who many people wouldn't be able to understand or identify with so it was a very difficult role for her as well. However, the experience was something hard to come by so she is eagerly awaiting to see the end product once it's ready.

Yuriko Yoshitaka to star in NTV 2018 Spring drama

Yuriko Yoshitaka will be starring in the NTV 2018 Spring drama "Seigi no Se". It will begin in April airing on Wednesdays at 10pm.

Yoshitaka plays Ririko Takemura who works in the Yokohama Public Prosecutors Office. She is the eldest daughter of a family that lives in Tokyo and runs a tofu shop. Ririko still lives with her family. The drama will be more about how she grows as a person rather than the cases she works on.

Yuriko Yoshitaka to star in TBS 2019 Spring drama

Yuriko Yoshitaka will star in the TBS 2019 Spring drama "Watashi, Teiji de Kaerimasu". Yoshitaka plays the character Yui Higashiyama. Higashiyama hates working overtime and workaholics. Conflicts come when her company gets a new department head.

Also in the cast are Osamu Mukai, Yuki Uchida, and Yusuke Santamaria.

The drama begins in April, 2019.

Yuriko Yoshitaka to star in TBS 2021 Fall drama

Yuriko Yoshitaka will star in the TBS Fall 2021 drama "Saiai".

Yoshitaka plays Rio Sanada who, at the age of 30, becomes CEO of Sanada Holdings which is run by her mother. Rio becomes a material witness in a series of murder cases. The murders are related to a missing person case that happened in 2006 in the town where Rio lived then. A detective who was Rio's first love works to find the truth behind the cases.

The drama airs beginning October, 2021.

Yuriko Yoshitaka to be lead in 2024 NHK Taiga

Yuriko Yoshitaka will be the lead in NHK's 2024 Taiga drama "Hikaru kimi e" which was announced today May 11, 2022. She will play Shikibu Murasaki who wrote "Genji Monogatari".

The script will be written by Shizuka Oishi, who also wrote the script for the 2006 Taiga "Komyo ga Tsuji".
