2/3 into "Kakafukaka" and I really want to shoot the male lead's kneecaps off, sigh... Shoot (*)

(*) before anyone starts worrying, it was just a reference to one of the last angloamerican tv series I've watched before my complete detox: "Person Of Interest" - see for yourselves:

Finished "Kakafukaka" and posted a full review, that we could sum up as:

"Instant top10 of the WCE (Worst Cr@p Ever)"

I made an exception to my personal rule of not starting a dorama until it's been subbed completely, and watched the first episode of "Iine? Hikaru Genji-kun"...quite funny + I like Ito Sairi!

Since I had already broken the "don't start a dorama until it's been fully subbed" rule for "Iine? Hikaru Genji-kun", I thought one more exception wouldn't make such a big difference, so I went and watched the first episode of "Joshi Kosei no Mudazukai"....and I'm so happy I did!!!
This thing is hilarious, seriously! At first it reminded me a bit of the manga "Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro", but honestly this is even better, making fun of so many dorama tropes...in the middle of the first episode there's also a short "mockasadora" which made me laugh for five minutes, OMG don't miss this title guys!!!

Meanwhile, I've watched "Jikuu Tantei Oyu": it has a very interesting premise, which unfortunately hasn't been fully developed (the fact that it consists of only 8 episodes, and short ones - around 20' each - at that, sure didn't help!). Too bad because it really had the potential of coming out a "perfect ten". As is, instead, it's more of an 8/10. Very nice acting by the leads, Sakuma Yui and Takezai Terunosuke. The music is also pretty nice, as is the Edo setting (though the clear use of wigs to reproduce the typical male hairstyle of the time - "chonmage" - was a bit cheap, imho)...

ETA:watched also "Mango no Ki no Shita de" (just one ep., around 75'); what can I say? IMHO, one of the worst things regarding this whole covid19 mess was hearing Western mainstream media, as well as many people here, saying stuff like "oh, well, most of the victims were already old, though" as if being old meant being a lesser person, less deserving of life. That's one more reason why stories like the one depicted in this lil' dorama need to be told: to remind everybody that we should instead treasure old people, because they have experienced many things and have much to teach us. Just like the old people of this dorama.

I liked Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai, solid cast and the bantering is definitely a highlight. I think Yasuda Ken's Kouji is my favourite character from the drama.

In other news, Sato Takeru is slaying fangirls left and right as Tendo-sensei.

Wathced ore no hanashi wa Nagai as well and it was good.

Started "Big Money!" and got a severe case of "love at first sight" for the adorable Okamoto Aya Lovey Eyes ...only to find out that her other dramas/movies where she had the main role are basically impossible to find... Bang Head Shameful Cry Pout

Bishoku Tantei is getting a bit interesting, since Mr Detective has finally encountered a setback.

Toumei na Yurikago was very good, if a bit heavy.

Started Shinya Shokudo season 4... then somehow got mixed up with episodes of season 5, so now I have to clear two seasons otherwise I'm neither here nor there. Stories are still good.

Interesting, thanks for pointing that out! w00t! ...plus, the lead is Kiyohara Kaya, whom I really liked both in "Ore no Hanashi ga Nagai" and "Mango no Ki no Shita de"...
BTW, I have a question about that series: would you say that it's pro-life, pro-abortion or neither? (seeing it's from NHK I expect a more balanced, if anything slightly conservative approach...am I right?)
TIA! Victory! Peace!

If I remember right, the drama was set in the 1990s, and in a small-town maternity clinic (so, not big hospital). Attitudes back then were not as "enlightening", but good enough still for those times. I would say it tried to be as balanced as it could, though on certain occasions, it tended towards pro-life. There was some emphasis on choice, both on the part of the expectant mother, and also the family as a whole. Overall, a very good watch if you are a Kiyohara Kaya fan, and Seto Koji also did well.

After 4 episodes of each series, my personal opinion on "Joshi Kosei no Mudazukai" and "Ii ne, Hikari Genji-kun" couldn't be more different!
Whereas the former is simply hilarious and every episode amazingly manages to beat the previous in its absurdly funny awesomeness (seriously, after that mock-asadora "Robokko" I'm afraid I won't be able to watch asadoras for some time without thinking about it and laugh at every "asadora trope")....on the other hand, the latter has soon become a desert of boredom: Ito Sairi gets way too little screentime, and all the focus is on (sorry ladies, bear no offense for what follows, it's only my humble opinion!)....all the focus is on "what PASSES for IKEMEN these days" (aka effeminate buck-eyed wimpy types who don't even qualify in the same league as J-actors from the past like Sorimachi, Nagase, Takenouchi, Kimura - and I'm saying that as a straight guy with no interest whatsoever in men but who can at the same time be objective when it comes to aknowledging other guys' handsomeness). Well, I guess the target of the series are fujoshi OLs, so I shouldn't be surprised. Still...eeeeewwwww...sorry for the rant! Sweat

Finished Lupin no Musume. Hung in there for Watabe Atsuro, who was suave. Fukada Kyoko is still shit after all these years, and I cringed whenever she tried to emote in front of Seto Koji - her face looked stuck.

LOL I've just watched an old tv movie she did with Nagase Tomoya titled "Futari", she was honestly terribly out of her depths...(her character required her to actually show some emotions... Sweat )

Talking about Fukada & Watabe, I've also found (with Russian subs, thanks the Gods I'm polyglot) an old and rare dorama titled "First Love" starring them both (and since my beloved Wakui Emi is in there too, I'ma watch it sooner or later).

Down to the last few eps. of "Big Money"; can't wait for the last 3 eps of "Joshi Kosei no Mudazukai"; I'm thinking about watching "Kaidan Botan Doro" 'cause Toda Naho's in that one (somewhere in her house she must have a portrait aging in her place; no, seriously, that lady's as attractive now as she was in "Shomuni"! Bow Smitten )

p.s.
Can anybody tell me how's "Rental Nan mo Shinai Hito"? Is it any good?

I can just imagine Seto Koji rolling his eyes privately every time she tried to make her face move. He was emoting enough for two of them in pretty much all of their scenes. It was kinda pathetic to watch him try so hard to wring a response from her, only for her to fuck it up all the time. I rather like him and feel sorry for him to be stuck with her. Her eyes had no expression like 90% of the time.

Tried watching "Kyou kara Ore wa!!" as per a friend's suggestion, dropped it after having endured 3 episodes; slapstick comedy of the lowest level + waaaaaaaaaaay too much violence for my taste + the blonde guy couldn't act even if his life depended on it + most of the dialogues which are supposed to be funny are actually idiotic instead. Hashimoto Kanna is cute, but what with the awful 80s hairstyle and with those abominably hideous sukeban skirts, that's really not enough to keep on watching this waste of film. In my humble opinion, the fact that so many praise such cr@p is just one more proof that we're in the middle of Kali Yuga, that the world is upside down and that the Apocalypse is just around the corner. Heed my advice and avoid this. And while you're at it, repent, 'cause the End is nigh...^__-

Bishoku Tantei is postponed thanks to covid-19 Sad It'd just gotten to a good point too, sigh. Oh well.

Finished Top Knife, pretty decent medical drama. Also finished both Netflix seasons of Shinya Shokudo, still pretty good.

Probably have to dig through my backlog of dramas to see what's good to watch next.
