pash, Yeah, "Queen's Classroom" is one that there was no middle of the road. People either really liked it or really hated it.

I can't help wondering how many of those who liked it then maybe IRL complain vigurously or even phisically threat (*) their sons' teachers for giving their "little treasures" a bad note, LOL

(*) unfortunately not a rare occurrence, here...

For a change of pace, maybe try "Marumo no Okite": https://jdorama.com/drama.marumo-no-okite.1629.htm

Two little kids, a talking dog, and Sadao Abe. Sounds pretty farfetched, but you might want to give it a chance.

Or, if you want to see Mirai Shida, the girl in "Queen's Classroom" in something else, try "Seigi no Mikata": https://jdorama.com/drama.seigi-no-mikata.1312.htm

Thanks a lot for the advice! Victory! Peace!
Haha yeah, I remember the hilarious scenes between Shida Mirai and Yamada Yu in "Seigi no Mikata"! And the lovely OST too! w00t!

p.s.
I've started "Nobunaga Concerto" meanwhile, so far I'm liking it...

Finished Tokyo Sentimental, it was pretty good.

Started Kore wa Keihi de Ochimasen, starring Tabe Mikako. For a drama about accounting and business expenses, it's pretty funny and I like what I'm seeing so far. Tabe Mikako is solid as usual, and Shigeoka Daiki, who was so annoying in Shiranakute Ii Koto, is a little more likeable here.

LOL, I've put it on hold 'cause I was, like, in romance overdose and had to switch genres for a while... Sweat

BTW, junny, if your ears were ringing recently it may have been 'cause I was thinking about you when I noticed they've made a Chinese remake of "Nodame Cantabile" (and I pictured you going to China with a hacthet to have a nice lil' chat with the people responsible for that, LOL) Mr Green

Finished "Nobunaga Concerto"; loved the series, too bad it felt unfinished without the subsequent movie, which unfortunately was plainly terrible imho... Puppy Dog Eyes

Binged "Kogure Shashinkan" and totally loved it!!! Applaud
Note that the synopsis is a tad misleading, as the "mystery" component is a kinda minor detail, the dorama is more about family. I wholeheartedly suggest this! Victory! Peace! w00t!

Four episodes into Kore wa Keihi de Ochimasen and quite enjoying it. Surprising that a drama about accounting and business expenses could be fun and interesting. Taba Mikako is doing well, and her boss is hilarious. Looking forward to more.

Talking about Tabe Mikako, I've watched the first episode of "Naniwa Shounen Tanteidan" and I must say I've found it way below par...
Meanwhile I've finally started "Watashi, Teiji de Kaerimasu" (much better!) and also "Keiji to Kenji" (nice!).
All the while I keep on watching (though, sloooooowly) both "Kaze no Haruka" and "Tokyo Sentimental" (BTW, I agree with junny, those are the two best characters...the ML is funny but a tad too childish)
p.s.
I wish somebody subbed "Isan Sozoku Bengoshi Kakizaki Shinichi"! Moririn's so gorgeous in that one, I'ma watch it RAW sooner or later... Sweat

Finished "Keiji to Kenji", I liked it! w00t!
Meanwhile, I couldn't resist and watched a coupla episodes of "Isan Sozoku Bengoshi Kakizaki Shin'ichi" even without subs; of course I could only understand a little, but still I got the impression that this is an original, witty and funny series! If only I could find subs in any of the languages I speak or even just understand a little! And then again, even Japanese subs would still be something, one could always machine-translate them and then fix 'em by ear and context... Beaten

Not even halfway through "Watashi, Teiji de Kaerimasu" and I've already started being seriously annoyed by the shallow, oversimplified, dichotomic approach - no nuances, no gradual changes...

First episode of Unsung Cinderella was much better than I expected. The story is a bit cliche but Ishihara Satomi was great as the pharmacist who put patient care above all else, though she could have been a nurse or doctor here and not much would have changed. Pacing was brisk at the beginning. Most of the support characters hardly got any screen time.

Three episodes into Iari Mienai Kao. A slow-burn mystery that can be quite unsettling, and most of the threads are coming together. It's nice seeing Odagiri Joe in a darker role.

I had meant to slowly savor the second season of "Furuhata Ninzaburo", the same way one would carefully sip a great wine...but it was so good I just had to basically binge it! Sweat

Started "Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" and honestly, I can't see what all the hype is about... Sweat
Rakugo-wise, "Tiger & Dragon" is of course unbeatable, but seriously, even "Chiritotechin" is better than this; as for the main character, they could hardly go with a less appealing one as far as I'm concerned; and as for the historical part (something I know a lot about as I'm quite the expert on 20th century and particularly on WWII), I more than once got a strong feeling that this portrayed here is more like "the snowflakes' Cliff's Notes' version", really - for example, take the reaction to the Emperor's radio announcement on August 15th, 1945 - the true reaction was mostly a mix of utter confusion, deep shock, profound shame, mute rage, etc. - as masterfully portrayed in the manga "Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni" - and as quite faithfully adapted in its anime version BUT MUCH LESS in the dorama, BTW).
I'll keep on watching for a while, but unless it gets waaaay better, I seriously might consider dropping this one...

Finished Iari Mienai Kao, the music was superb and I enjoyed the unsettling vibe.

Two episodes into Unsung Cinderella and finding it rather unrealistic and a tad more melodramatic and self-sacrificial than I was expecting.
