Thank you so much my dear! I just watched a really fun drama called underwear. The star reminded me of an older Ryoko. It was tons of fun if you haven’t seen it. But of course I love the fashion world. So how are you? I broke my leg not too long ago, actually my dogs broke it for me by running into me. So I have started binge watching Japanese dramas again. LOL and Dr. X sounds perfect for this week!

Ryoko Yonekura to star in Netflix drama "The Journalist"

Tokyo, Japan (Sept 15, 2020) - Netflix, the world’s leading streaming entertainment service, announced the production of Netflix original series The Journalist (Shinbun Kisha) a series jointly planned and produced by Star Sands and Netflix to be released on Netflix in 2021.

The Journalist is an adaptation of the hit movie of the same name, The Journalist, released theatrically in 2019 which was a huge hit with audiences garnering a great deal of attention by confronting Japanese political crimes and scandals of recent years. With its shocking tackling of societal taboos, thrilling developments, and stylish visuals, the film won awards in three major categories at the 43rd Japan Academy Awards, including Best Picture of the Year, as well as many other film awards.

In The Journalist, Ryoko Yonekura (Doctor X, Legal V) will play the protagonist Anna Matsuda, a Toto Newspaper reporter known as the ‘maverick of news media’, who strives to expose issues in modern Japanese society. Michihito Fujii(The Journalist(film), Day and Night ) is set to direct this new series.

The Netflix original series The Journalist is scheduled for worldwide release only on Netflix in 2021.

All I could find was this press release. No date when shooting starts, no tentative air date. Nothing.

The hits just keep on coming!

Ryoko Yonekura returns for Doctor X Season 7

Ryoko Yonekura will return as Michiko Daimon for Season 7 of Doctor X.

Also returning will be Yuki Uchida, Kenichi Endo, Masanobu Katsumura, Kosuke Suzuki, Ittoku Kishibe and Toshiyuki Nishida.

This time Totei University Hospital has to deal with a worldwide pandemic that causes the medical systems to collapse across the world, including Japan. Totei University Hospital makes the decision to focus on infectious disease and internal treatments, while postponing any noncritical scheduled surgeries. The hospital also faces a power struggle, while dealing with the infectious disease crisis.

The drama begins in October, 2021.
