Akihabara@DEEP [アキハバラ@DEEP]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
Anti-heroistic, comic-esque characters form a "rescue" team where everyone turns out to have a unique power. Their abilities combined, they are ready to fight the unjustice. The cliched plot outline is.. well, cliched, but the irony towards lifeless otakus is a working theme.
Attention Please [アテンションン プリース]
Rating: 5/10 (Watched)
The main problem in this drama was Misaki. The character was too exaggerated and often ended up just ridiculous. I don't know how realistic the cabin attendant training was in this drama but it was interesting to see.
Densha Otoko [電車男]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
I had a long break with this drama so I can't say if it affected my opinion but... Anyway I stopped in the middle of the 9th episode because of the overall irritation level. I couldn't decide which one of the characters was the most spineless idiot and the show just seemed to get more and more ridiculous and repeating towards the end. I still really enjoyed the first episodes (loved the setting scenarios) so this drama isn't completely rotten.
Hana Yori Dango [花より男子]
Rating: 4/10 (Watched)
This drama had its good moments but overall it was rather boring. The plot was difficult to begin with and I think that they didn't manage to carry it well on screen. Also some of the leading characters were annoyingly one-dimensional. Hana Yori Dango can entertain, but only a little.
Ichi Ritoru no Namida [1リットルの涙]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
Probably the best tv show that I have ever seen so far. I got hooked to the series straight from the first episode. Very professionally and smoothly made, from the script to the work of the actors and actresses. Also the thought-provoking side of Ichi Rittoru no Namida is carried very well along the series. There are some things that I still would have liked to see in the final episode, but it doesn't ruin the whole experience.
Last Friends [ラスト・フレンズ]
Rating: 8/10 (Watched)
I think this has a place in my top three favourite dramas. At first the characters seemed to have the most black and white personalities in the world but their realtionships gave them a little depth towards the end of the series. The whole story didn't seem too long and had a nice, positive message but I do agree that the end was packed too full with solutions, especially when many things were purposely left unsaid.
Princess Princess D [プリンセス・プリンセスD]
Rating: 9/10 (Watched)
The acting, camerawork, setups and everything are done in the style "Hey by the way, could we come to shoot some videos in the school after classes?" and of course with a total budget of a 1000 yen or so. This drama is horrible, poor, camp, twisted and awfully entertaining.
Taiyou no uta [タイヨのうた]
Rating: 6/10 (Watched)
I enjoyed this drama, although I agree that this idea did seem a bit recycled. Also, I think that the script kinda hobbled in some scenes and some characters were clearly not thought far enough.
