Long vacation [ロングバケーション]
Rating: 10/10 (Bought & Watched)
This is a wonderfully romantic story, supported by some very good acting. Sena is one of Kimura's best performances, with a very subtle portrayal of a Sena's vulnerability. Yamaguchi is great as well, subtly making her character deeper than she appears on the surface. She expresses true maturity in this role, and I don't mean just because she's the one over 30.

Doubles ~ Futari no Keiji [ダブルス ~ 二人の刑事]
Just OK [Rating: 5/10]
Sakaguchi and Ito's performances are fine in this but the scripts are horrible, some way too simplistic and preachy (crime is wrong! don't be mean!).
Hidarime Tantei EYE [左目探偵EYE]
Horrible [Rating: 1/10]
I could only stand to watch the special, and barely made it through that. The show has a halfway interesting premise but is executed horribly. But the main character can only see visions if he's punched? Funny how he never has any bruising from that. The cops are complete buffoons. And Ishihara Satomi's character is one of the most idiotic roles I have ever seen.
Jigoku Shoujo [地獄少女]
Too many unanswered questions [Rating: 3/10]
This show left me with too many questions, about both the characters and the plot. The journalist's interaction with Hell Girl in the finale made no sense at all to me.
Sore wa, Totsuzen, Arashi no you ni... [それは、突然、嵐のように…]
Unique drama, excellent performance by Yamapi [Rating: 9/10]
Although it was slow-moving in parts and the ending was a bit of a cop out, I thought overall this drama was excellent. It had a very unique feel to me which I can't exactly put my finger on. Perhaps because it was a more complicated depiction of what it means to fall, and be, in love than I expected. I thought the two leads were excellent, and was particularly surprised to see such a subtle, understated performance from Yamapi. He is head and shoulders above most Johnny's who lack his maturity and have to scream their lines to express emotion. The chemistry between the leads was very good and I absolutely cared about them as individuals and a couple. He connected with her on many levels while his scenes with Kaori were stilted and downright painful to watch. She was one of the least likeable characters in a drama that I've ever seen, and I thought Ayase's character was an annoying psycho. I do think the story would have been a bit more plausible and compelling if Yamapi's character were college age. High school is just too young.
Taju Jinkaku Tantei Psycho [多重人格探偵サイコ]
highly creative...beautifully bizarre [Rating: 10/10]
one of my favorites. non-linear with truly unique storylines and characters. great music and visual effects too.
Tiger & Dragon [タイガー&ドラゴン]
One of my top 5 dramas [Rating: 9/10]
Brilliant writing, direction and editing, and most of the cast is quite good as well. Although there are 3 leads, they act as a true ensemble.
