Ryoko in a new drama

"Actress Shinohara Ryoko (36) is finally going to make her comeback as an actress and appear in a dorama again. Itfs a bit of a let-down that itfs only going to be a single-episode dorama SP, but anything is fine after more than 2 years without her on TV.

Her dorama roles reach back until 1992 and her last dorama was back in 2007 with her starring role in "Haken no Hinkaku". She then decided to get herself a long-needed break and even gave birth to a baby boy back in May 2008. Itfs the first child of her and actor Ichimura Masachika (60), her husband.

The dorama SP is set to air sometime in September."

Damn, her husband is just plain old. I'm sorry but by the time the son graduates from highschool, the husband might be senile. Sweat

I guess, that might explain why there were no posts in this thread for a year.

Fuji TV finally released more details about their upcoming getsu9 dorama "Moon Lovers" starring SMAP's Kimura Takuya (37).

Shinohara Ryoko (36) will play the leading female role. She already stared in a dorama SP last year, but it will be her first actual dorama since taking a break to give birth to her child in 2008.

She plays the role of a very skilled interior designer who has been hanging out together with the Kimutaku's role since their student days. Her feelings for him have always been beyond the friend stage, but she kept on hiding them even as an adult. It will be difficult role of a mature and actually strong woman who doesn't have the courage to come clean with her feelings.

Taiwanese actress Lin Chi-ling (35) also will make her first appearance in a Japanese dorama in Moon Lovers. Matsuda Shota (24) and Kitagawa Keiko (23) complete the top-class cast. It's the first time for Matsuda and Kitagawa to work together with Kimutaku.

Matsuda will play a subordinate of the company president played by Kimutaku. He's a very skillful and obedient worker who even has some great Chinese skills. On the other hand he is also a mysterious person who holds a lot of ambitions and gets involved in a complicated love situation. "I'd like to completely relax during the filming and act all natural," he commented with a great deal of fighting spirit.

Kitagawa will play a charismatic model and daughter of a wealthy family. She's clearly trying to use her youth to get a score with Kimutaku (his role). "It's my first time to play such a role, but I will try my best," she said.

Ryoko Shinohara to star in second "Unfair" movie
Sun, December 5, 2010
Actress Ryoko Shinohara will return to the big screen with a sequel to the 2007 blockbuster "Unfair the movie," once again playing the lead role as the tough detective Natsumi Yukihira. This is the first time that a work she starred in has received a proper sequel.

"Unfair" started out as a drama series in 2006, averaging 15.4% ratings with a peak of 16.5%. A special episode aired later that year, achieving 18.3% ratings. In 2007, the movie opened in theaters, and it earned 2.72 billion yen at the box office to become the #9 Japanese film of that year.

Returning cast members include Sadao Abe, Masaya Kato, Susumu Terajima, and Teruyuki Kagawa, but it is also said that three major characters will be added to the story. Filming is expected to begin in February, with theatrical release planned for fall 2011.

Hope this movie is better than the first one, the drama is the best police drama I've seen to date, one of the best dramas period, but the movie was such a letdown, Shameful Cry would rather have had a seson 2, though as bad as the movie was Ryoko shone as usual. Victory! Peace!

This actor plays Akechi in the drama 'GOU' He is the one who has the hand that shakes so much and he is the one who attacks Honnoji Temple.
He really lookd very old and almost decrepit in the drama but I hope that is makeup and attitude. He is 62, rather a large difference in age with Ryoko who is 36.
