I thought the first episode was hilarious. The humor is probably not for everyone, but if you like Kudo Kankuro's Maiko Haaaan!!! then you'll love this. Fukada Kyoko is, well...Fukada Kyoko. I've pretty gotten used to her acting by now, but her voice still gets on my nerves sometimes.

From Japan Times:
In the new drama series "Mirai Koshi Meguru (Future Teacher Meguru)" (Asahi, Friday, 11:15 p.m.), Kyoko Fukuda plays the title character, an English instructor at a cram school who is forced to support her family after her debt-ridden father disappears.

Meguru has a strange condition. Whenever she eats too much, she has visions of what the future holds for those in her presence. One day, while eating barbecued beef, she realizes that her boyfriend, Yuki, will become bald and fat 20 years down the line. She becomes discouraged with the idea that she may end up living her life with Yuki, especially after attending a party with some former classmates who she finds will turn into very handsome men.

It's kind of funny, but Fukada... blargh... This is about all she can play. Kurokawa's in it, yep, that's pretty much the highlight, that and the support cast. But Fukada... I really hate her voice when she's whining. Yeah she's cute, but that's about it and she's 26, cute alone is not enough at that age. _________________

I didn't really want to but I couldn't help myself. I watched the first two episodes. Sigh, the usual Fukada Kyoko stuff. The only time I've ever seen her play a different character was when she guest-starred on Galileo.
Still, it was cute and funny. Dumb, but not the worst thing ever.

She just can't act....that's the long and short of it...the only role I've ever seen her in which was befitting was Kamikaze Girls the movie....
Her portrayal in Galileo was so unbelieavable it was farcical. The only reason I will probably end up watching this drama is because it is a Kudo Kankuro work....so I thought I'd watch it, IN SPITE of Kyoko Fukaka.

You know, up until Remote I somewhat like Kyoko. And then came this "I DON'T WANT TO DIE! I'M GETTING MARRIED SOON!" whining in every single episode. In some episodes even more than once... oh boy...
And she's doing her whine in this one as well... Mind you, I've heard a choir of high school girls go "mukatsukuuuuuuu", I've heard fingernails scratching on a blackboard. But the Kyoko whine... is even worse than the cry of the banshee.
I have to give her one thing: the new hairstyle suits her. _________________

I won't knock her looks, it's her acting that's horrid. She's obviously very popular, moreso for her looks than her acting ability, I'd fathom to guess.

Which is something I donLt get - she is not that pretty - she has bad skin and is in my opinion somewhat cute but far from stunning
I am not even getting into her acting skills, this drama could have been superb with a more talented lead.

Every Kyoko drama could have been superb without her in it...okay, not all, just most.
