If you read some of the posts over at D-Addicts, some of these fangirls seem to get off on that DV stuff doled out by Ryo...
Maybe that's the way it is with Masami's character.

You're right, don't know much about the subject, it's a shame too many put up with guys like him.  Just watched 3 episodes today, 3 more to go, hasn't been as depressing, few more loose ends keep getting added in. Did this get good ratings? Subject like this makes you wonder if it had broad appeal, though good cast and acting though.

It got good ratings because of script rewrites to keep Ryo in the drama rather than focus on the two main characters...
With Juri-chan's role/performance, it broadened her appeal, particularly with the gay/GID crowd...

Ryo's role really hasn't been as big as you would think,  probably just enough to keep the younger female crowd tuned in. Yeah, Juri is good, always is though, I really enjoy Eita, every role I've seen him in he justs so much better.

Can't understand with all the stuff he's done, they haven't gone to the police or at least get back at him someway. Finished episode 10, has got quite addicting the last few episodes.
