Just finished Code Blue recently, I would say this is one of the better Yamapi dramas around, that I had watched apart from Proposal Daisakusen. The chemistry btw the co-stars inside this show were pretty good imho, and yes it's great to see some of the veteran actors/actresses like Yanagiba Toshiro and Ryo lead the show, as they had their own side-stories in this drama series main plot.
I personally think as much as some people in this thread said that Yamapi's acting was pretty 1-dimensional, I've personally seen much worse acting than this. Furthermore, this drama wasn't only great because of Yamapi alone, but due to the effort of the whole drama's cast, so to blame this drama was a flop because of Yamapi, I would think that's quite a heavy statement given.

This drama was not a FLOP! Flop dramas do not get Specials. Highest ratings for the summer dramas, YamaP alone could not have pulled that off - imo. Something happened to his acting along the way from Akira Kusano to Kousaku Aizawa

Kurosagi ( imo) happened. I wanted to be impressed by YamaPi once more but Kurosagi was just too dreadful. Ken in Prodai was somewhat similar to Akira but he didn't quite manage to pull that one off too (the crying was more convincing than in Kurosagi though). Kurosagi was a juicy role but he absolutely disappoint me personally.
Code Blue definitely not a flop but no award for his acting please~

The special is a continuation of the "Code Blue" drama series from this past summer, which starred Tomohisa Yamashita, Erika Toda, Yui Aragaki, and Yosuke Asari as four young doctors training in an emergency helicopter program.
