TOKYO E
Actor Ken Utsui, 77, actress Satomi Ishihara, 21, Michiko Hada, 40, and other cast of Tokai TVs special drama Nagaiki SensoE(War over Longevity) appeared at an event this week to promote the drama which marks the 50th anniversary of Tokyo TV. It will be aired on the Fuji TV network nationwide on Dec 26.

The drama is about six 76-year-old elderly people who try to live longer than each other in order to receive money from a special fund. Utsui plays a 76-year-old character who meets a young woman (Ishihara) and gets into philosophical discussions about the meaning of life and death.

Utsui said, I was surprised that a story about six senior citizens would make a TV drama. But Im very happy that the Japanese TV and film industries are interested in producing such dramas. The way I feel these days, this drama may be my posthumous work.E

Ishihara said, Im very pleased that I could work together with wonderful actors and crew. This drama has been a great experience for me.E
