Tsukumo Ryusuke is neuroscientist working for the National Research Institute of Police Science (part of the National Police Agency). Another Galileo clone.
i guess so, but nothing can beat Galileo. but with Kimutaku, i can see a highest rating for this one.
i can never understand all the fuss about him. and what ever i watch of him does not convince me otherwise.
I am only watching this for my eye candy Hiro. _________________
i'm not ashamed to admit that i haven't seen any kimura takuya drama. none of his previous ones seemed appealing to me.
and as for galileo, is it me or the antics get old pretty quickly. i lost interest and felt detached to the main players. i would have wanted to see more of 'them' as people. does that make sense?

I've only really seen him in Engine... Playing the lovable rogue role which he seems to be typecast in... Or likes to play.
then i must be the one to see the most of his dramas at the moment . i have seen him in 3 dramas (Long Vocation, Love Generation and Karie-naru Ichizoku) and 2 movies (2046, Love & Honor) and still not convinced of his talent with such huge popularity. (you can't even say it's because of his goergous look or amazing singing voice )
now goes and hide away from kimutaku fans. _________________

I haven't thought any of the Kimutaku dramas I've seen (still not seen Pride) are particularly bad, just mostly "pretty good" or "not bad" or "decent." They really don't deserve the super-high ratings that they get. He has played the same character in a different profession in every role. The best two were Long Vacation and Karei-naru Ichizoku. In Karei, I actually thought he was "acting" instead of just playing himself. Still, it wasn't like he was the only one that made those dramas great or anything. He could have easily been replaced, I think. _________________
I thought he was really good playing bad in "1 million Stars Falling from The Sky". Most of his dramas are entertaining but I don't think other star would make the same impact as he did playing the characters he played. Takuya Kimura made his charisma/personality as part of the story. A majority of the audience like what they see in him, so... there's really no need to explain why or what's so attractive about him.
It's like most people are straight and a minority is not.
I was hoping something more eccentric for MR BRAIN but unfortunately he has really nice hair and well tailored suit in this. They made him sound like a crazy scientist in the initial press release.. now he looks boringly suave.

We're a complete opposite then. I don't care for Hiro (another one of those too much attention less substance kind of thing), it's Kimura's quirkiness that I'm hoping to see, like what he has displayed in various SxS skits. _________________

not a kimuya fan myself. The only dramas he was in which i followed through faithfully (it was a good script before a string of copycats that followed) were Hero and Change.

It is always interesting to read the opposing opinions about actors and Kimura san in particular. I have admired him for about fifteen years and have seen pretty much everything he has done. Despite having to play a stock role in a few dramas, he still brings his talents and makes it interesting. At times he does defintiely play a strong and dark character very well. I like him as an actor and when he also plays comedy. He is the best audience himself when he watches a funny performer.
Some of his shows I would not watch with another actor playing the role.
Takes all sorts...but I can't say I hate other actors even if they leave me cold. It's just that Kimura melts my bones so easily
Since it's raining I stayed home and watched this. Not bad but not great. The production seems to be over the top which tries too hard to wow the viewers with CGI and fancy equipment. Also, the special guest stars in this show makes you wonder what budget TBS is working with (Money is no object)? I believe this is TBS' answer to Fuji Telebi's BOSS or atleast give BOSS a run for it's money. Plus there isn't really a great dorama imo to compete with on Saturdays *cough* The Quiz Show *cough*. I'm sure this dorama will do great in ratings.
The theme song by Van Halen rocks! I wore the hell out of that 1984 album back in the day.

.... from this very high, high end production - fast moving pace, you gotta take a moment and love kimutaku's pajamas
for all the billions of yen spent - will TBS achieve the ratings they wanted...

They certainly scored the highest rating for a first episode in Ep1 in this season but I felt numbed by all the fancy stuff that they heaped on. That didn't disguise the fact that there isn't a very good story at the heart of the drama and well, Ayase Haruka and Mizushima Hiro, maybe even Kimutaku are all playing what they played in other characters if there's even much acting required.
Better than Boss but not much better.
I liked seeing Ichikawa Ebizo though his character was kind of pointless _________________
