Watched the finale just now. I really enjoyed this dorama. Quite possibly one of the best of the year. Awesome production backed by great acting. Applaud

Guess you weren't the only one:

"JIN" finale exceeds 25%

The ratings are in for the popular TBS drama series "JIN." The show's final episode, which aired on Sunday night, averaged an impressive 25.3% in the Kanto region, setting the record for a television drama on a commercial network this year.

Before this, the highest rating for a drama on a commercial network was the first episode of "MR.BRAIN," which achieved 24.8% during its broadcast in May. However, despite breaking the 20% ratings mark with five of its episodes, "JIN" averaged just slightly over 19.0% in its complete 11-episode run, falling short of both "MR.BRAIN" (20.5%) and "Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji" (19.2%).

I've been enjoying the drama a lot.....for me, it's just pure entertainment. Good drama to watch after a stressful day. I'm waiting for the finale w/subs to be uploaded somewhere.

I wish I were as sophisticated as many of you who know how to d/l dramas, etc. otherwise I'd be doing the same. Is there a JDorama topic on how to do this?

You mean BitTorrent?

There's a thread here: http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.7957.htm&highlight=bittorrent

Also, there's help over at D-Addicts as well. Smile

I haven't seen the final episode yet but it would deserve a movie or a second season.

Thanks!!

As far as a sequel, I'm not too sure. It might be interesting to have Sakamoto Ryoma and Saki be "beamed" to the future but how would they accomplish that as far as the story is concerned.

I'm rather content how this ended.

worth a sequel i thought. I like how it ended.

my only grouse is that it has so many characters with complex relationships that it flows like a Taiga production, punctuated with a few historical characters. I was really confused by the rank and file.

Ayase Haruka was overshadowed by Nakatani Miki's charm. Her role is merely an accessory, just like the one in Mr Brain.

Ryoma's character was like comic relief .....????

Better late than never I guess. Just started watching this. It's very good!! w00t!

I only have two complaints: 1) The first episode was waaaay too long. They really didn't need an hour and a half.

2)

Yeah, I wouldn't say I though the ending was terrible. It's just like others have pointed out, it left a lot of questions. I'm guessing it was purposely done this way, in case they decide to go for a second season or movie.

Last episode felt really slow to me.

I am pretty sure they will continue with a movie or second season.

i hate surgery scenes aka spaghetti scenes
i love those computer graphic-generated sceneries
i hate the cholera
i love Ryoma's scenes
i hate to know the real Yoshiwara really did put hapless women behind the grilles like zoo animals!!!

Over the last 2 days I watched the entire drama (I love long weekends). I thought overall, this was a very good drama, but I think it may have been a little too slow in a few places.

I agree that the Cholera scenes were tough to watch.

As for the end

from Dorama World

JIN'S MOVIE VERSION TO BE SCREENED IN 2011

JIN will be made into a movie as announced by TBS on 28 January 2010. The filming will begin this summer and the movie is scheduled to be screened in 2011. TBS received a lot of requests for a movie after the drama ended in December 2009 thus the decision was made in accordance with viewers' wishes. The cast for the movie will be the same as the drama.

so, there won't be season 2 but they decided to make a movie. As long as it answer all the questions that were left behind in the final episode, I can live with that Mr Green

yay! Dancing
