Hello, Im in Malaysia.. I just wanna ask, are all of the VCDs include english subtitles? Other than chinese subtitles. Cause i cant read chinese and i dont understand japanese. I hope any Singaporeans can reply and leave their emails. Thank you so much.

So far I've got 2 sets of jap VCDs at hand, both only display chinese subtitles... The sad fact is that all VCDs will only have chinese subtitles... will you be satisfied if you can access those synopsises online?

well sure!!! i know the possiblity to get older dorama with english sub is not that high..so its good enough if i can have it at least.. u know drama like tengoku no kiss , lets go to school , and anything for you!!! its not available at all in here *crying*

u understand chinese or japanese ? if yes, ur so lucky!!

so is there any doramas that avail in my list in Singapore?

yep, went to your site and saw that long list of dramas ya yearning for. Thing is, i don't really recognise most of them... I'm not really an ardent fan, but rather, I just look out for the ones that are always reccommended on the Web as well as reviews by people. This is because I sooo busy, can't really keep track of all the releases... What I know from most of my other peers is that the VCDs they bought are subtitled in mandarin. Hence, it's not in my knowledge that there are any j-drama vcds out there with english subtitles... Sorry, looks like I won't be of much help to you...
I'm chinese, so there isn't a problem for me. However, it is a personal wish to know japanese... so I'm serious planning to take up some course after my A levels, also hoping that my enlistment date won't be that soon~!

the well known singing contest organized by NHK [Nodojiman] is coming to singapore for filming. THey recently went to canada, and now they coming to singapore...you dont have to be a native japanese..BUT the song chosen MUST BE a japanese song.....the competition will be telecast LIVE in Japan and in other countries where there is NHK channel

NHK Nodojiman in Singapore
Date: November 2, 2003 (Sunday)
Time: 10:45am-1:00pm
Venue: Suntec City Singapore 6th floor, #603
Broadcasting: Live telecast on NHK Satellite Channel
November 2, 11:15am-12.30pm
(Star Hub Channel 43)
Guests: Ayako Fuji, Kiyoshi Hikawa
MC: Yasuo Miyakawa (NHK)


Condition for applicant: Resident (over 15 years old) in Singapore or the neighbouring area (Johor / Batam / Bintan)

Song selection : Japanese song only

but the slang..is a little off
not as cute as those cute jpnese accent..

is always like that....becoz we are not the native speaker,so that's y we tend to have those funny accent...juz like japanese speaking English or chinese....

actually if you just keep watchingl ots of jdramas.. you tend to pick up their accent.. my japanese teacher used to say that hearing japanese people talk is the best way to speak japanese naturally.. Wink
