Nevertheless, don't expect I'll be watching Bloody Monday anytime soon. Has nothing to do with Miura, I just grew weary of the "computer nerd saves the world" scenario a loooooooooooooong time ago.

And I have to say, after the last few shows I've watched... I was pretty satisfied with it.

Esumi Makiko plays the wife. Nogiwa Yoko and Ito Shiro are back as the Mother and Father-in-law. And heck, even Yokoyama Megumi and Sano Shiro make a cameo appearance. Not as the sister and brother-in-law, but as an odd couple who run a cram school.

It wasn't what I'd call good. But I'm far enough away that I've stopped trying to compare it to "Double Kitchen". And it was what I wanted it to be. A chance to get to see some of my old favorites running around and having some fun.

If you're not familiar with the cast members... or if you're just not fans of the cast members, you might give it a pass. This is just a bit-o-fluff.

The only thing I remembered about it was that Nogiwa Yoko seemed genuinely fluent speaking English.

There wasn't much there to remember. But Esumi still looks great, and she still has a knack for physical comedy.

And I agree... Nogiwa Yoko's English came off really well. I remember being struck by it the first time I buzzed through the show (before the subs became available).

I can't source it now (and who knows, maybe I made it up) but I think I recall reading mention of the fact that she's had a vacation home in Hawaii for years and that's how she became so comfortable with the language.

Well... even if that's hooey, she certainly didn't sound like she was reciting something she'd learned phonetically.

Not a Ueto Aya fan but Juunen Saki mo Kimi ni Koishite does seem interesting. And i finally could see Uchino Masaaki in his more decent look.

Final episode, Joker Yurusarezaru Sosakan.

Not bad if you like this kind of drama. Even Nishikido wasn't bad, probably because he wasn't the lead. I thought the best character was the chief, Kaga Takeshi.

Did a little research: Nogiwa graduated from St. Paul's University in Tokyo, the largest Anglican university in Japan. Perhaps it was there that she polished her English skills.

Unubore Deka final episode - it has been a roller coaster of quality, episodes 3, 7 and 11 were my favorites.

Roller coaster, indeed. My favorites were 2, 7, 8 and 11. I was totally blown away by the final episode though. It was so very satisfying and the best I've seen in awhile as far as finales go.

Still need to get around to finish Atami. Anyone see the final episode? Was it good?

I liked it, mostly all mysteries are explained and the ending is somewhat whack and out of this world but perhaps this could lead to a 2nd season?
