Have to say I’m appreciating that Netflix is also caring J drama. Watch the sunset is called atelier or underwear, about lingerie designers. Lots of fun and now I’m starting on all the seasons of Dr. X again
Just finished Densetsu nokyoushi . Oldie but goodie. Sadly osme of my old dvds are starting to deteriorate. A real bummer _________________

Just watched first episode of Koi wa Tsuzukuyo Dokomademo. Pleasantly surprised, I enjoyed it a lot. Mone Kamishiraishi fits the role perfectly, the supporting cast seems really good too, full of likeable characters. Looking forward to the rest.

I enjoyed the first episode too, just not too on board with Kamishiraishi Mone. That said, she's more tolerable than her sister.
Sato Takeru makes for a hot doctor, and I am liking most of the nurses already. Yamamoto Koji is hilarious as the somewhat ditzy boss. _________________

There's three series that i've been eagerly awaiting new subtitled episodes for - (1)Mada Kekkon dekinai otoko, (2)Shufu Katsu and the asadora (3)Natsuzora.
I think the first season of Kekkon dekinai is better but the current one is still good.
Shufu stars Suzuki Honami (from Tokyo Love Story) and its entertaining even if the story can be quite predictable at times.
Natsuzora deals about animation and has been interesting so far. _________________

Ore no Hanashi wa Negai episode 1
This made me smile. The bickering between the siblings reminded me of Saigo Kara Nibanme no Koi, although they couldn't quite match Nakai Kiichi and Koizumi Kyoko. But it was still very enjoyable. Check it out if you are interested.
I also skimped first 3 episode of this year's taiga drama. The scenery is beautiful but the drama itself didn't leave much of an impression on me, it seems like it's carried by veteran actors.
The revelations at the end of each episode of Alibi Breaker are interesting but the drama is nothing special. Hamabe Minami is cute but her role is too simple for her talent.

It was already in my "to watch" list (anything with Koike Eiko goes there automatically, I'll admit ), your comparison to one of my all-time faves (Saigo kara Nibanme no Koi) just convinced me even more
I liked Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai, solid cast and the bantering is definitely a highlight. I think Yasuda Ken's Kouji is my favourite character from the drama.
In other news, Sato Takeru is slaying fangirls left and right as Tendo-sensei. _________________

Started "Pure" (2019 - it only shares the title with the old gem starring Wakui Emi, but this one's totally different), it's quite funny and Hanabe Minami is reasonably cute...

Halfway through it, I agree with you, atm he's my favorite character too (Mitsuru gets 2nd place and Harumi 3rd - Jury's special prize going to the "Clutch" girl)!

Finished "Ore no Hanashi..." (loved it!) as well as Wakako Zake 3 (so-and-so, partly 'cause it was unsubbed and therefore less enjoyable, partly 'cause the whole concept of "let's see what she stuffs her face with this time" grows old pretty soon)
Now I started "Taisetsu na koto wa..." (actually, I kinda wanted to watch "Tokyo Sentimental" but the fact that 2 out of the 3 specials are still unsubbed is a big turn off for poor old me).
Too early in the series to comment on "Taisetsu...", except for saying that said poor old me cannot even begin to imagine being about to marry Toda Erika...AND CHEATING ON HER!?!?!

Not even halfway through "Taisetsu na koto wa..." and I'm feeling like dropping it, sigh...
First of all, I totally misunderstood the plot....I was expecting a noir (building on how and why the male lead woke up next to one of his students...is it a frame? who's behind it? what's really going on? ....etc. etc.) instead of this cheesy watchamacallit ("school triangle"? "school romance"? "school for scriptwriters very much needed"? ).
Apart from that, I can't help feeling that they took a few REAL actors (Toda Erika, Nishimura Masahiko plus some young talents who would later come out as real actors as well - like Ito Sairi and Suda Masaki, i.e. - but who are unfortunately relegated to being little more than extras here) and they teamed them up with a bunch of pretty faces who are, alas, as expressive as a...oh, NOW I got it! A "school of fish"!
(sorry, I know these days I'm particularly harsh in my reviews...but seriously, this is really "aria fritta", as we call it...- "hot/thin air"...)
Started Toumei na Yurikago, which is a sobering watch so far. I'm not a fan of babies or anything, but there are some interesting messages here. Seto Koji is generally okay for me but I think he's doing quite well in this one.
Also watching another medical drama Top Knife, and just happy to see Shiina Kippei in a role that is not evil, ha.
BORDER is so good that I'm happy rewatching it anytime. _________________

Started "Kakafukaka"...well, it's a lil' weird...ok, no, honestly, it's weird as hell, LOL!...but Morikawa Aoi has the lead role, so it's still a pleasure to watch, so far...
Considering it's from the same writer who did "Ueno Juri to Itsutsu no Kaban", I'm not really surprised to hear that, LOL
Really? I didn't watch Ueno Juri to Itsutsu no Kaban, was it bad as well? Koi Tsuzu was dumb and a waste of Sato Takeru. I hope he doesn't take on stupid roles anymore. Kamishiraishi Mone was annoying and the script was bad.
Started two episodes of Bishoku Tantei Akechi Goro. Nakamura Tomoya's acting isn't really doing it for me, but it's got an interesting lead vs antagonist dynamic going on, so I'll hang in there for a bit. _________________

With the premise that of course it's all imvho (so if these titles are someone's faves, I hope that someone won't take no offense), "Ueno Juri to Itsutsu no Kaban" is, for me, in the same class of titles like "Camouflage" and "Fukatsu Eri no Burakome" (iirc, I reviewed the former as "pompous, artsy crap" - pardon my French ). The only title of that genre I actually enjoyed (because of the lead's comic skills and also of the much lighter and funnier script) was "Kanno-san to Asobo"

I watched Dairenai and most of Reverse. Dairenai is okay, and there are some parts that get pretty emotional. The second male lead also seems super nice. I wasn't totally sold on the pairing of Toda Erika and Muro Tsuyoshi, but it's watchable if you are in the mood for something sad.
Reverse is quite slow and it just feels like there are bits that could have been chopped that would not have affected the story. It's mostly about a group of friends coming to terms with their shared past. The twists and turns are rather meh sometimes, but the acting overall is pretty decent. _________________
