THink I'll start on the 3rd ep in. I did think Horoshi was very funny along with the other characters.
that guy was mad funny...although i do like ryoko hirosue...acknowledging your distaste for the bird, i agree it's far from her best performance, but the corporate effort given all the cast members is pretty entertaining....abe hiroshi is in top form, as are quite a few others....

I liked how Nana was always trying to get that one guy
yeah, satoshi tsumabuki's character...she was way the hell better in that drama than in pretty girls where she was merely eye candy. pretty girls....shoulda named the drama pretty crappy, yo.
i liked nana katase in last christmas but her character did not have enough screen time...she was this gorgeous albeit reserved woman.
Just to shake things up, I got hold of an old British Dorama, "The Irish RM" made back in 1982. Staring Peter Bowles.
I remembered it being a jewel, and happily last night I found out that the thing holds up very very well. Probably because it was done as a period piece. It's about a retired British Army Major who takes a job as a Resident Magistrate (Judge) in Ireland at the end of the 19th century.
Great cast, funny show... and yes, I did catch myself checking the bottom of the screen for sub titles.

Finished "Keizoku" over the weekend, and old (circa 1999) jdorama feathering a young Nakatani Miki. I was pleasantly surprised by this drama and was going to rate it an 8. Unfortunately the last 3 episodes (which is the finale to a storyline as well as the drama) were a bit over-the-top, with a rather sad ending, so I ended up giving it a 7.

Well you'll have the other 7 in a day or two I should think.
I know. That's why I got ahead of myself. Shouldn't have, but since they were coming from you, I just assumed it was pretty much the same thing as already having them. Hopefully they'll arrive today.

Re: The Irish RM compared to Rumpole.
Well, we're talking about two of my all time favorites. "RM" probably holds up a bit better as TV. The film quality is better, and since it's set in the late 1890's it doesn't seem dated.
A note: The focus of "RM" (Resident Magistrate) isn't the court cases. These are mostly small quaint short stories about an Englishman going to Ireland and watching the interactions between the peasant Irish, and the horsey British Gentry.
If you liked Rumpole, I'd say definately give the Irish RM a shot. _________________
