It looks like it has a lot of starts in it. Someone is selling it on EBAY for US 27.00 (I think it says there are 12 VCDs . Is this right?).

honestly, i don't think the length of this dorama is like the usual length of any typical doramas..it looks like the 'Akantare' or 'Oshin' type of dramas, so maybe longer...but why don't you confirmed with EBAY first abt it..as i said b4, i didn't watch it till the end, so i dunno it has how many episodes..sorry..and yep, it has plenty of famous stars..

"Toshie to Matsu" is actually broadcasting here in the United States right now with English Substitles. I have been watching that drama for more than a year or so now. I don't know it is, but I am sure it can't be just 12 VCDS. So I think it is better for you to check with the seller before you purchase it. The drama is based on Japanese history, which is quite interesting.

I am also watching this drama right now in the US and from what I know, it is 49 episodes long.

Pretty good so far. =)

You can buy this series from online stores but they only sell them in parts (eps 1-8 set, then eps 9-16, etc).

i have also been following this on nhk premuim channel in asia. it just ended its run last sunday. i am inspired so much i plan to take a trip to kanazawa to see all those historical places which took place in their lifetimes.

matsu's such a wonderful character, and her concern and protection of her son and the maeda clan prompted her to sacrifice herself as a hostage in tokugawa's edo for more than 10 years. what a mother she was.

btw, next year's new taiga dorma is on miyamoto mushashi. the 2-sword samurai. saw the preview, bits of yonekura ryoko, matsuoka ..., nakama yukie, uchiyama rina. it will start on jan-5.

The VCD set states that it has 12 VCDS for US $27.00 so it probably only contains 15 or 16 episodes. It would be crazy to buy that many VCDS for something you don't know if you would like. And if even you loved it, it would be better to wait, in case they might put it all on one DVD set later on.

Does anyone know of a period piece called "Toshii no Matsu" it's suppose to have an all star cast including Sorimachi Takashi, Takenouchi Yukata and many others. It takes place in feudal Japan. I heard about it a while ago and have looking for ever since. I'm dying to see this show, so if anyone knows anything about please let me know.

I'm sure he meant DVDs

Btw are these DVDs authored or just DVDs that contain video files? If its the former then where can I get such a set? Smile
