thank for the tip man i didn't realized how many crap was running on my comp until i installed Spybot .
Pretty amazing how much spyware crap is floating around, neh?
To be thorough, I usually run each program a second time if it found spyware the first time. That way, you know the crap has been cleaned off your PC...
I use Spywareblaster along with Ad Aware. Spywareblaster prevents spywares from being installed to your comp. Ad Aware removes and spywareblaster prevents, good combination! More info at http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Be sure to run Ad Aware after porn surfing session and such sites as cjb -end

Way cool, Pemu. I'm gonna download it right now. Arigato!
For the word problem, like I said you can just make a shortcut yourself and you can move in to the start menu->programs.
I assume you're using IE? Have you tried other browsers?
Now for when you enter a link and it takes you to another site. I just installed Spybot too as suggested by bmwracer. If you run the advanced mode, on the left side choose tools->browser pages. Do you see anything suspicious there?
For not able to goto the websites you mentioned, take a look into the HOSTS file. Search for "hosts" on the drive where windows is installed. I'm using WinXP, and it's in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc". Open the file (it's a text file). If the sites that you can't goto are in there, put a # in the front of the line and save it (make sure it's saved as just "hosts" not "hosts.txt" etc). Now try again. Might have to restart computer.
If the problems still persist, then I really don't know what else to try. Hope others can help you.
Description
No privacy violation (except keywords are stored in combination with your IP), but installation removes all other installed BHOs. In addition, it hijacks the MS search pages to their own homepage.
i need to run spybot everytime i start my computer.

It'll be really difficult to pin-point exactly what the cause is seeing Windows doesn't give any clues up-front EXACTLY which file(s) is causing the symptom. Things to check for:
- Event Viewer: See if there are any log entries in the "System" and "Application" logs that may give more detailed information.
- Check the following web sites, which describe the symptom almost identical to yours:

Hey Groink, thanks for the reply.
I still can't find the problem though. This is what I pulled off of the microsoft page..
CAUSE
The behavior can occur if the following conditions exist:
You have "automatically restart" selected.
The Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 or Direct CD 5.0 program is installed on your computer.
I don't have the easy CD creator installed. Where would I look to find out if I have "automatically restart" selected?
Sorry, I ain't a very computer literate person.....
Anybody?
Thanks

What was the fix? The "automatically restart" option? That feature is designed for PCs that are used as servers, so that in the case of someone mistakenly bring the server down, it'll restart instead.

Yes, it was the "automatic restart" option. Is it a bad thing that I turned it off? If so, please advise, -although I hope not!
Also, please help Michi, if you can. She's got a lot of $**t in her's......
Ugh. Looks like you've got craploads of clutter in your Registry. Try dowloading EasyCleaner by ToniArts... It's a free registry/unused files locator/cleaner... Just be careful when you do delete those files... The program like any other is not 100% foolproof...
If that doesn't help, you might want to backup all of your vital information, and reformat and reinstall... That would guarantee a clean bug-free system... I've done that before when things have gotten out of control... Yes it's painful, but maybe a necassary evil.. Good luck!
