Yea exactly. I've started the second season (watching first epi as we speak) and it's like a continuation of the first. No space between.

Ahhhhh okies.

I have marking for two more classes to do, but I think I might sneak in another episode of Trick.

Eh? Trick 2 has a different thread than Trick 1? Head Scratch

My Review: 8/10

What I loved about Trick season 2 was that it continued from season 1, but elaborated or expanded on all the GOOD points. The relationship between Ueda and Yamada didnft continue to be flirtatious, sly, and innocent like in the first season. Instead there was growth and understanding between the two. It was more mature and showed some depth. The humour in the second season was also more refined and sharp. I laughed more than I did in the first season and this is probably because the characters seemed to mesh better this season. I found the stories to be more mysterious and suspenseful this season, and less based on magic. I havenft decided if this is a good thing or a bad, but either way I felt that this season was a good and seamless extension of the last. Letfs hope the third season follows to par.

Hmm, should I merge all of the Trick threads together?

Seems logical... Others have been merged. Head Scratch

I would, since it's easier to talk about them all, but it's up to you. Smile

Finished Trick 3!

My Review: 8/10

While watching the third season of Trick, I was wondering what I would write about for its review. Having already written a review for both the first season and second season, I was finding myself running out of things to say.

I noticed that the scenarios for each episode drifted further away from actual magic tricks and became more the gmurder mysteryh types. Which was fine. The mysteries were even more complicated in this season, which was welcome, except I found the last episode quite rushed and not at all mind-blowing. At this point I was already feeling quite indifferent to this season and didnft care to write it out in a review. Until the very end.

The benefit of watching all three seasons was in seeing the growth of Naoko and Jiro. In the first season there was an awkward, sexual tension between them that created amazing chemistry. In the second season, after having grown with each other in the first season, the tension between them was more mature, relaxed, and there was a sense of understanding between them. By this season (the third), they were already comfortable enough to sleep in the same room, to joke with each other, and there was also a small element of jealousy. By the last episode, and having seen nothing in suggestion of further growth in their relationship, I gave up hoping they would fall in love and live happily ever after. After all, Trick isnft a romance drama, and Jiro and Naoko would probably kill each other before confessing any hidden feeling.
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
After three seasons I was finally satisfied, and I am well aware I would not have been if I had not watched from the very beginning.

SP and movie I'll watch tomorrow. Good

I don't think there's any English subs available, except may be for the boot legs on eBay. I'm a huge fan of the series, but IMO they really ran out of 'tricks' for this final installment, even w/ Horikita Maki and Hiraoko Yuuta guest-starring.

Totally agree that the ending is perfect (and funny). Don't know which version you watched, but the R2 DVD box set (Trick - Troisieme partie) has roughly an optional extra 15 mins of footage for each episode (~ 1 hr per ep.).

After season 3's ending, you may feel a bit let down by the SP and movie as they are somewhat independent from the TV series (basically just stand-alone stories).

BTW, I also highly recommend the same director's prior work - the 1st 7 episodes of Keizoku (the subsequent ones and the ending is a big mess that almost ruin the series for me), starring Nakatani Miki and Watabe Atsuro.

I figured this would be the case, so no worries. I won't expect too much in terms of progress. Smile
