i have watched ard 50 plus jdramas

and i found out that some of the cast is doing very well.
but however they dun seem to get a major role.
even they has,its not a great blockbuster one.

here's some of them

1) shinohara ryoko (mukodono as takeuchi yuko's sis)
2) rina uchiyama (appeared in lots of dramas, but doesn't seems to shine)
3) sakai wakana (frm home and away)
4) nishida naomi (frm home and away)
5) rena tanaka (gto movie)
6) kimura hoshino (same fate as uchiyama, but better)
7) takeuchi yuko??? (is she very famous in japan? i like her personally)

anymore?

I'm hoping that rina uchiyama will make it big! She's a great actress.....hopefully Moto Kare will give her career the boost it needs to turn her from supporting character to being the main actress.

when i saw your title i immediatelt thought of shinohara ryoko.. definitely.. she acts really really well.. as for others.. i think suzuki anne is underrated tooz. maybe because she's young.. for guys.. probably abe hiroshi..

Yes..I agree with you that Ryoko Shinohara is underrated. She's a great actress. I've seen her played in so many characters although they are just supporting cast. She's at last got a leading role in J-drama with Hideaki Ito (haven't seen it yet though). Another one is Miki Mizuno, she's also ok.

Abe also a good actor but lately he got leading part such that j-drama with Yuko Takeuchi (forgot the title and have not seen it yet). Another guy that is underrated is Ikki Sawamura, Personally I think he's a good actor..O, and Shiina Kippei.

Perhaps, there's more than just good acting skill- you know that sort of magnetism to attract ratings or charisma and of course some lucks. Those who make it big are so, so Lucky.

Wrong section, this is a general discussion section. Drama talks to drama section and artiste talks to artiste section. That's why discussions are divided into several sections. Don't go posting an artiste talk to general discussion section or vice versa. Pls, remember it from now on.

erm...

Female:
Hoshino Mari
Okina Megumi
Matsuyuki Yasuko

Seriously, I don't see them being as popular as the others though they act well.. hmmphhh...

For male, I agree with arashinokoto that Abe Hiroshi is pretty underrated...

Okay, I get to blow the Yonekura Ryoko horn again, but I really think she's underrated as an actress: She is a supermodel that can act.... Smile

Okay, I'm done ranting. hehe

Well, she has been the lead actress in the last few series/films that she has done: Musashi, Seikei Bijin, Gun Crazy... And Musashi probably took over a year to tape, considering it was 49 episodes, so she probably couldn't work on any other projects...

yeah but to be fair...in musashi most of the time she just sitts there and cries.... i've only seen a few eps were she has "acted"..... i dunno maybe i just need to see seikei bijin... Shake Head

if i were to say any1 is 'underrated' it'll be Eguchi Yosuke he's an ecellent actor yet...i can't find much about him.... Crazy

Yeah, in a show like Musashi or most jidai-geki films, the women aren't allowed much lattitude as far as acting is concerned... Still, she provides the romantic and emotional component to the series...

Yeah loveless, you really need to see Seikei Bijin... I can't imagine anyone else in that role, she does a great job... Really! Applaud
