I think there should be a new section called "About Japan" under JDorama's "JDorama.com Forum Index"

General Discussion and Japanese entertainment discussion are good enough, besides the most of the sections have got something to do with Japan. I don't see any necessary to establish a new section.

Perhaps when you want to suggest something, substantiate your suggestion with more points and reasons. Why should there be an "About Japan" section? Perhaps you have your own ideas that can justify the suggestion - lets listen to it.

Maybe you can set up a section giving a brief intro about Japan itself?

Here's something that just hit me (this might be trivial, really): Can you make the area that lists the latest posts to completely spell out the thread title?

I noticed that if the thread title is too long, it gets truncated and you don't know what the thread is about until you click on it... Would it be possible to have the thread title wrap to the next line, or is that not possible?

Just an idea.

I'll think of something, maybe a tooltip, but won't let it wrap, coz the size of the page is quite fixed with the feature artiste pic beside. Will look ugly if i let it wrap.

Ratings are based on viewership in Japan. What kind of ratings do you have?

That will take quite some time, alot of coding to do, which won't be my priority now. Patience... Sweat

Hmm...I have a feeling the newcomers don't bother to browse the forum, they just post the new threads right away. I highly suggest browsing the forum before posting, there already may be answers to your questions.
What about this one: since there will be always newbies registering, they may or maynot know some of the hidden guidelines for posting about things already posted by another menber. May I suggest a "Read before posting" sticky: rules and guidlines before posting which should include browsing B4 posting. Even if they're new, if they don't read and adhere to the rules, any of the mods can delete any posting with or without warning.

i've said this before on some thread but I guess this should be the proper place to post it.
How about adding a search by topic only option. There's way too many thread already that even with the search facility, there's just way too many posts/threads hits. With the search by topic, i would guess the number of hits would be smaller so it won't be as tedious to find an existing thread.

Notice now that when you place your mouse over the shortened thread title, the full title will display at the bottom of your window. Hope this helps.

i think the forum needs to be reorganised. its getting a little messy. I think that the front page with the latest post is a good idea. but don't you think posts tend to disappear, when many people just go to the posts via those links?

when you're watching a topic it sends an email when someone replies to topic.

is it possible that the reply is included in the email?
