Hi minna.
I am just a newbie in the jdorama's world.
I just started watching japanese dramas last year.
My favorite dramas are: (in no particular order) Nobuta wo Produce, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, Bloody Monday 1 & 2, Liar Game 1 & 2, Proposal Daisakusen, Taiyou no Uta, HYD 1 & 2 and uhh... Gokusen.
Maybe there's more but.. I dunno...
I like suspense, or anything romantic comedy. Umm.. just want to know what can you guys recommend for me to watch next? I have a copy of Buzzer Beat but I feel reluctant to watch it...
Anyone?
I am not a Kimutaku fan but drop Buzzer Beat and watch the original Long Vacation.
I personally would recommend Love Shuffle in the category romantic comedy, Unfair and Gonzo in the suspense category.

Just finished Soratobu Taiya. I more than recommend it, it's just fookin' brilliant! The suspense is perfectly distilled and the actors are all excellent. A must watch.

Could not agree more. This show is definitely a hidden gem and under-appreciated.
Another WOWOW drama that does not disappoint! _________________

I highly recommend HanaKimi and Nodame for romantic comedy if you haven't watch them already.
Ryusei ni Kozuna is very nice too, blending comedy, romance and suspense.

Have you checked out Hana Kimi? You might like it
Thank you for responding! I am currently downloading Long Vacation and watched the first 3 episodes! I really am getting hook! I have watched Hana Kimi... and it was really a fun drama..
I shall check on Love Shuffle and Unfair and Gonzo. Thanks a lot! _________________

Thank you! I liked Hana Kimi but not that much.. it was fun though. I have heard a lot of feedbacks about Nodame... so I might try it. I'll check on Ryusei too. Thanks a lot for this! _________________

I haven't seen all of them but:
Atami no sousukan - quirky Twinpeaks style mystery. I love it but you have to like whacky stuff.
Unubore Deka - silly Kudo Kankuro stuff - not his greatest work but it has brilliant moments
NatsuNijiri - Lovestory, according to some the two leads have no chemistry but most say it's decent once you're past the first episode.
Hotaru no Hikaru 2 started great, is funny but a bit too prudish.
Mioka - terminal illness stuff, most people seem to think it's somewhat weak.

After gettin recommendations from here my dorama fever is coming back, and I watched 3 doramas in 3 straight nights (Seigi no Mikata, Tsuki no Koibito and Bara no nai Hanaya)
My Recommendation are Tsuki no Koibito (especially if you are kimutaku's fan, though nothing new on his character, it's kimutaku's signature character if i masy say so) and Bara no nai Hanaya, this one, I cried alot (yes it's been awhile i cried to a dorama/movie). Bara no nai Hanaya has many good points, the story is strong, very nice plotting, the flow is good and also nice actor/actresses, I really recommend you this one if you are looking for a good tearjerker dorama.
Now I'm changing my route to dorama like Bara no nai Hanaya, anyone got any recommendation? _________________

Arifureta Kiseki - it's a bit slow but lovely. Perhaps also Mother.
Has anybody watched this season's Gold? Is is any good? Stereotype-free?
I am somewhat undecided if the story appeals to me or not.
At first I thought it was awesome. Amami Yuki being fierce is something she's completely mastered, Nagasawa Masami is actually likable even to non-fans, and Sorimachi is smoking hot in this kind of role... Buuuuuuut story-wise, I don't think it lived up to its potential. There were a few interesting themes that came up but it all sort of fell flat in the end. It's definitely not one of Nojima Shinji's stronger works and I was disappointed, but it does bring up some discussion-worthy issues.
I'll try to be as vague as possible so I don't spoil anything:
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
Certain supernatural elements sometimes seemed out of place and if sorta-kinda incest isn't your thing, you should probably skip this.

Thanks! I find the topic interesting but I'll skip it for now - perhaps something to watch in longer winter nights, when there is nothing else on.
