hello all,

i highly recommend "kimi to deatte kara" starring motoki masahiro (ex-johnny's idol) and tsuruta mayu. this show will surely make you cry throughout the episodes. very good show about true love and how love conquers all. motoki starred as a tough executive who seems to have no feelings at all. tsuruta likes him secretly. one day he met an accident whilst he was trying to save tsuruta and become semi-paralysed thereafter. he also lost his memory because of the accident. thus, he became a changed man. tsuruta nursed him back to health and they fell in love. however, fate takes a turn when tsuruta found out that he was one who caused her parents' suicide during his tough executive days. however, love prevails.... very nice theme song too. a must-see!

Is this JDorama has a depressing story as JDorama titled "Kono yo no hate/End Of the world" (starring : Honami Suzuki & Mikami Hiroshi) ? I don't really into sad-depressing JDorama, but I'm interesting to watch "Since I Met You/Kimi to deatte kara". Hopefully, I will enjoy this JDorama if I watch it someday. :)

BTW,..Any fans of JDorama "29th Christmas" (Tomoko Yamaguchi, Toshiro Yanagiba, etc) ?? I LOVE THIS JDORAMA !! Big Grin

domo minna,

would really like to recommend "ningen. shikkasu" by KinKi Kids (out in ts outlets already). this is one of the guys earlier doramas (when they were only 15 years old!) so you get to see skinny tsuyoshi (totemo kawaii!) and koichi with many zits on his face (this guy already so good-looking at that age!). can read about the storyline at genma's drama page. find that this drama is even better than "wakaba no koro" due to its storyline. also kudos to its now extremely famous scriptwriter, nojima shinji (he also wrote the recent s.o.s.) a must-see for those who like dramas with deep storylines!!! also a must-see for KinKi Kids fans (like me!)!!!!

domo enau,

you're most welcome. if you like KinKi Kids (like me!), then do check out "ginrou" (files of silver wolf" if singapore does import this show. i bought mine in hongkong when i was there for their concert. it is similar to tsuyoshi's kindaichi, but not as suspenseful as kindaichi though. but it's good to catch koichi looking totemo kakkoii at 17 years old! a must-see if you are a koichi domoto fan!

domo minna,

gomen ne, please bear with me while i recommend yet another dorama where one-half of KinKi Kids is in, Ao No Jidai. it was screened over SCV recently. it stars tsuyoshi domoto, acting his best as a rebellious youth rejected by his mother (& thus society too) & the dorama tracks his path to a bright future through a lawyer (this lawyer later turned out to have a split personality & thus betrayed tsuyoshi's character) & his girlfriend, played by a very sweet okina megumi. thought that tsuyoshi was really convincing as the rebellious but kind-at-heart youth. also good to oggle at him when he was still skinny. (those who have seen the near obese tsuyoshi now would know what i mean!)...

Hi Stephanie !

Thank you so much about the infos about Kinki Kids. Smile Well, unfortunatelly I'm not very familiar with them and I guess it also goes to most Japanese singers. I'm from Indonesia and I just recently learning little by little about JPop and J-entertainments. Smile So, your inputs about Kinki Kids will be a good reference for me to look for more infos about them. Thank you.
I also saw in this website that one of the member of Kinki Kids played in the JDorama titled "Without Family", starring Adachi Yumi. I don't watch this show regularly, so I can't remember which is the member of Kinki Kids.
Thanks again for the infos.

Dear Enau,

Thanks for updating me on "New Die Sternaler" earlier on.

Glad to hear of your interest in J-doramas. I fully agree with Stephanie on the quality of dramas starring Kinki Kids - kudos to Stephanie for the recommendations!

"Without Family" stars Dohmoto Tsuyoshi, who is my preferred half of Kinki Kids. He is a fine actor, and has yet to turn out a less-than-satisfactory performance since his sensitive portrayal of Aizawa Takeshi in "Wakaba No Koro" - a compelling drama not to be missed.

The other half of Kinki Kids - Dohmoto Koichi - has a fair share of quality productions too. Incidentally, he appeared in "Wakaba No Koro" as well, although his performance was much less impressive. Do catch him in "Tenshi Ga Kieta Machi", which stars the talented Uchida Yuki as well.

Happy viewing!!

Regards,
Jon

Hi Stephanie!

I certainly don't mind your recommendations on Kinki J-doramas! Smile Thanks for alerting all of us Kinki supporters to "Ningen.Shikkasu". Any drama as good as, or even better than "Wakaba No Koro" is certainly worth taking a look at! I have already grabbed my copy from TS last week, and will be watching it soon (hopefully). I suspect that Dohmoto Tsuyoshi's character will die halfway, though I hope I will be proven wrong.

I am currently glued on "Ao No Jidai" as well. Seems to me that Kinki Kids do well as street punks - Koichi did fine good in Tenshi Ga Kieta Machi" too.

Personally, I feel that "Ao No Jidai" is one of Tsuyoshi's weaker doramas - although his acting is substantial (as always!), and Megumi Okina is simply gorgeous (quite unlike her image in "Wakaba No Koro) and compatible as his love interest, the development of the plot is often convoluted...

Nevertheless, it is better to have a "weaker" Kinki dorama screened than none at all. Hopefully, "Wakaba No Koro" and "Summer's Snow" will make their way to SCV's broadcasting list soon!

By the way, have you watched "Aiken Rosinante no Sainan - Mukai Ryuuta no Doubutsu Nikki"?

Regards,
Jon

domo jon,

do-itashimashite! good to have another KinKi Kids fan in singapore. re: "ningen.shikkasu". must warn you that it's a dark tale & plus cuz' the script's written by nojima shinji, expect the dorama to wrench your heartstrings....sorry for this spoiler, but you're right, makoto, tsuyoshi's name in "ningen.shikkasu" will die at the end of episode 5. i don't have how many buckets of tears i shed when i watched that scene..hated luka, koichi's name in the dorama for a while, cuz' he didn't save makoto (gomenasai, another spoiler!)..
glad that "ao no jidai" is on scv. seems though, that mediacorp has no interests in doramas by KinKi Kids, so far, only kindaichi was screened in singapore. (actually, i heard that "without home" was screened a long time ago, don't know how true. btw, sorry but have to correct you, "without home 2" stars koichi and not tsuyoshi)
do check out their other doramas like "miman city" (both were in it), "harmonia" (koichi only), "ps genki shunpei desu" (koichi only), "files of silver wolf" (koichi only), "for the future with you..i'll be back" (tsuyoshi only), "to heart" (tsuyoshi only)...
re: "aiken roshinante no sainan", the storyline is kind of stupid though but tsuyoshi's very kawaii in that role, a little slow-witted & always bullied by the others. watch it for the sake of tsuyoshi & if you like animals. watch out for a cameo appearance of koichi at the last episode.....

Has anyone saw Kinki Kids Miman City ??. I've just finished it and it was very entertaining. I am a bit puzzled about the ending though.I cannot read Chinese but the VCD was on sale so cannot resist.Throughout I was mainly guessing the scene by catching on my meager knowledge of Japanese word and based on the simple synopsis on the net. Anyone who saw it please tell me why does Yamato insist on staying in that city and why all the kids come back to support him. Thanks.

Hi Sarafina,

Thanks for the recommendation. Somehow, I miss the earlier Kinki doramas where both members took up leading roles.

Anyway, I think the review on the following website will help you gain a better understanding of "Minman City", although I am unsure if the information there will answer your question specifically.

Is this a romantic comedy ? There's a sale going on at ts now ( i'm from singapore ) so I'm looking for some good dramas which are worth buying.
i like romantic comedies such as 'itazura na kiss' and 'ideal wedding/wedding story'..so was hoping to look for some similar ones.
