ah man! I thought Infernal Affairs was in it but I guess they took it out of the foreign films department I loved that movie so much. Except part 3, first 2 were good (especially the first).

Glad to know that there has been a discussion on Ken here. I like his performance in The Last Samurai sooooo much. I got into the cinema and watched this film for few times already...just because of Ken! I found there are not so many information of Ken on the web. Although my Japanese Language is poor, I am still trying my best to understand as much as possible. Is there currently a TV drama "utsuwa" with Ken showing in Japan now? Is that great? Indeed I do not have much confidence for Ken to win Oscar. I am not incofidence to Ken, he is acting great, but you know, in such a big game Oscar, there are many other factors affecting the result. And I do think the opportunity for Ken to scrap the Oscar is relatively small... Good luck to Ken. Especially hoping he will stay healthy and develop his acting career prosporusly in 2004~!

i just watched the last samurai and i must say that watanabe ken's role has made the movie much more convincing really hope he'll grab this award

no i don't think he will win, i'm sure tim robbins from mystic river will grab the award.

I found that Ken has held a concert many years ago. There are some pictures of the concert booklets: http://www.bidders.co.jp/item/20133447 Ken looks wonderful, especially the picture on the cover... But I just don't like the name of the concert, "Sympathy Concert Tour". It seems to say goodbye to Ken, after discovering his leukemia (blood cancer) in 1989...
