ah yikes, I can't answer most of these questions.. have so little reading experience, and I currently forgetting the name of the books (series of) that are my favorites <lol>

but I trying Japanese authored books right now ~ finished reading Battle Royale, which I must agree! It does make the movie suck haha

Right now I'm reading 'The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle' by Haruki Murakami, weird book so far, but I'm really liking it, he's really original, I look forward to finishing this one and reading any number of his other novels.

I've got Taiko and Memoirs of a Geisha to read next as well tho too, I'll have to see what they're like.. but they sound less fictiony.. wonder if I'll like?

sorry not answer in the format you made!

hey, aitri, i've read The Wind-up Bird Chronicles!!! i think it's really nice... very wierd but really really interesting...
Murakami's books are like that.... very abstract and like you said, very original!!!!
i've read few of his books... and all are quite good....but my personal favourite from him gotta be Norwegian Wood... it's a more straight forward book and very different from The Wind-up Bird Chronicles.

I've read Memoirs of the Geisha, i think it's a great book!!!

It's about the French Revolution. I read it one summer back in high school. Since it's been a lil while I think I might read it again, who knows I might actually like it this time.
