Boot out

you are so asking for it.

i am just dreading the 6 hour drive. I'm not a fan of long drives, I'd rather go through the hassles of airport security than suffer in boredom in that drive.

I guess I just have to bring my laptop and bring my doramas with me to play some catch up.

I hate work

I have been here since 8 totally doing NOTHING.

Well, I'm doing something, but it feels like I'm doing nothing.

those are tough hours...2-10, that is basically the whole day, but atleast you get the morning, and lunch hours..
but i suppose i am accustomed to the traditional work hour schedule 8-5pm, plus commute times, I suppose i would rather have the evenings, but there are some advantages of having diff work hours, you can go to the store, etc....during open business hours....harder sometimes in the evening in rush hr traffic times. This time it's my turn: Just had a customer call in and he said that ever since he installed his DSL modem, his printer doesn't work Beat You Wish I had the number of that guy with the cd player problem, I could have one hell of a confernce call Crazy
Edit: But wait, it gets better. Another customer called in because his DSL wasn't working, and I told him that I could tell from my test equipment that there was no signal going to his modem. He answers, "Oh, the modem is still in the box. Do you want me to take it out?"
"No, I just want you to stick your head in an oven and turn on the gas!!! " Shake Head

I think the test needs to be done before the computer goes out the door.

I have no idea how anyone thinks that DSL is there when the modem is still in the box. Unless it's magic.

Man, you better have IQ tests included in the application form for your clients. That way you can find out whether they're intellectually capable of even spelling DSL.

Just as a follow-up, this customer thought that to get DSL all we did was make a change on his phone line, he didn't think he needed a different modem or had to hook anything up. He said a friend of his told him that. Shake Head
There are a lot of people out there that pass themselves off as "experts" when they really don't have a clue. I remember standing in line at a movie once, and the 2 guys in front of me are talking, and the first guy(the "expert") was telling his friend that all you needed to setup your own webpage was a domain name and DSL!!! The 2nd guy didn't know any better so he believed him. I wanted to tell the 1st guy he was totally full of shit, but a movie line is no place to start a fight.
