Without spoiling, Basically it's about a girl that's hiding out in the countryside. She lies to a family to be able to stay with them.

Latest watch, one that I highly recommend. Victory! Peace!
The Wonder Years
For Soo-Ah, itfs a particularly difficult stage in her life, as the young girl is rather taciturn, recalcitrant and self-absorbed. About to start middle-school, she finds herself in limbo with no real friends and distant even from her family. Her father having died two years previously, her mother (Chu Sang Mi) has to cope by herself to keep the familyfs modest small-town restaurant business going and is too busy even to attend her daughterfs graduation. Things donft get any better in Soo-Ahfs family life when a fellow trader makes off with their savings, forcing them to close down the business and move into a junkyard run by a friend of her mother. Her motherfs friendship with the man puts further strain on the mother-daughter relationship, leading Soo-Ah to dream of a more idealized surrogate mother in a famous pop-singer she adores, Yoon Sur-young (Kim Yoon-Ah). Doubts about whether her mother is indeed her natural mother push Soo-Ah to the brink of an identity crisis, one that takes her out of her small town for the big city of Seoul.

You should check out 3-iron.

Just checked it out, enjoyed it quite a bit, these kind of films are right up my alley. hehe Counted how many words the 2 stars said, 6 by her and zero from him, remember him fondly from Sassy Girl, Chun Hyang. Mr Green

Have you seen the The Vengeance Trilogy? Those are good. Lots of violence though. Because there haven't been any good Korean shows to watch lately, I recently re-watched these films.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003), Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005)

Yup, have seen them, Oldboy many times, first 2 were really good the last was only so-so. To me their horror, dramas and romance/comedy films are almost always good, Mr Green their action ones are pretty hit and miss, seen many good ones but also too many bombs. Puppy Dog Eyes
Next few watches I think...
Hello Schoolgirl

Domabaem

Watched Love Phobia which was a real entertaining watch, follows the life of a semi-couple who met when they were 8 years old, got parted a few times but eventually got back together though in a sad way. First 40 minutes were really funny and quirky, middle part dragged just a tad but the final 1/2 hour was really good, sappy but also quite sad. Puppy Dog Eyes

I liked Love Phobia, the first half more than the second half. Despite the first have being comical and the second more sad, the movie played out well. It transitioned well from one genre to the next.

Got a series of movies: The Man from Nowhere, Joint Security Area, The Chaser and Memories of Murder.

Watched only Memories of Murder so far, last night - great but gritty stuff about the investigation of South Korea's first known serial killer who got away most likely because of sloppy investigating.

You're right they are all thrillers hehehe - I didn't realise that.
Have now also watched The Chaser, very similar to Memories of Murder as it's based on a real serial murderer too.

I like a good thriller or a psychological drama from time to time but this one was extremly nerve-wracking and I was more exhausted than relaxed afterwards. I'll take a little break before watching the remaining 2. Mr Green

This thread has been quite quiet..... just viewed Castaway on the Moon and was mighty impressed with it Victory! Peace! ... a guy heavily into debt jumps off a bridge into the Han River trying to kill himself and instead gets washed up onto a deserted island in the river and somehow this shutin living in a hi-rise spies on him thru her telescope thinking he's an alien.... recommened if you like stange, quirky types of films. Nut
