Lotsa claims for Integras, I bet.
Hmm, I would think it would be for theft risk I dunno about everywhere else, but where I am, Hondas and Acuras are high on the "most often stolen" list

Good point. The Accord and Civic are in the top ten (five?) as far as stolen cars are concerned. And I bet the Integra is up there as well...

I think Acura is owned by Honda too, right? Or something like that...

I guess it pays to have a Neon, eh KS?
Not necessarily with the theft risk. It's not in the top 10, but it's up there....all models are at risk, 1995-2004. Neons are common for chop shops, because so many people have Neons...the parts are in demand. For theft, I do what I can. I have known a few people who had Neons that got stolen. One of them had a 1995. It was stolen TWICE. He got it back the first time b/c it was only a joy ride thing and his head gasket had just gone the day before so they dumped it in North Philly and it had bullet holes in it. But the next time it was stolen...it was never found (earlier this year). It was a POS anyway.
The Neons before 97 were POS's. 97 is even 50/50. 98 had big improvements to most of the problems in 95-97, which is why I bought that year I drove 2 other 98's before picking mine too. I've driven a TON of Neons...all years. I can tell them all apart. If in 2 years or so they are still making new Neons (plans are to stop Neons in 2005 or 2006 so I'm SCREWED ), I'd buy a new one, in GRAPHITE But that won't happen. That makes me so sad....b/c I'm not ready for a new car yet, but I want a Neon update. Not quite ready to part w/ my baby yet and she's not paid off for another year and a half, so I'm so torn!!! (I get attached to cars)
But anything is at risk for getting stolen really If they really want it, they're gonna get it Oh god I hope I'm not jinxing myself

You're right:
Honda << Acura
Toyota << Lexus
Nissan << Infiniti

Yep. It's impossible to make a car theft proof, but the more difficult you make it to steal, the better. And a bit of luck helps, too. Get yourself an omomori...

Yeah, I know. Kill switches, alarms, clubs, etc...they can still get it I'd like to think the effort to do mine is more than some other Neons so maybe they'd move on I have an alarm and I use a club. They can freeze the club and crack it. But still, it's something extra to do. For my car, they'd have to get in, and by then the alarm would be going off. Then they'd have to take the club off. While the alarm is going off or even if you have the remote and don't start the car within 60 seconds, my car won't start until you hit a switch down by the hood-popper (if they use the ignition at all).
OH, I didn't know Infinity was by Nissan....the other two I knew about
One time, I was out and my alarm remote battery died....I had to break into my own car sorta, while the alarm was blaring...I was trying to get the damn club off, LOL. At least I had keys to open the door and start the car though

Exactly. Make car thieves go for the easier mark.

I just have a Club, but no alarm . My car's ignition system is disabled when I lock the door from the outside.

No alarm disable switch?
There's a button down by the hood popper, on the bottom left in the footwell. I have to bend over and reach underneath, LOL. My alarm is set to automatically arm after about 45-60 seconds, I think. So, if I don't get the club off in time and get that car on, it'll arm while I'm inside, and that HAS happened It won't go off if I'm inside unless I open the door, but if I put the key in and turn the ignition, the car will not start. The panel will light up and the chimes will go, but it won't start.
You have to turn the key to the accessory panel first, hit the button by the hood popper, then turn the key again and you can start the car This is if you don't have the remote, because you can always hit the unlock button while inside. Or if the alarm is going off, the door MUST be shut in order to shut the alarm off with the key and button and start the car. Pretty standard alarm I guess
OMFG, if the battery in my car goes...the alarm randomly goes off

Hmm, that description is too detailed... If I was a car thief, I'd give up on your car right now...

LOL!! Any jdorama fans here looking for my Neon would have a hard time finding it in this city I suppose Plus, that's standard stuff. Any pro thief already knows all of that business

I finally remembered something that I've been wondering about for a while What's the difference between a VW Passat and a VW Jetta? I can't tell them apart from just looking at them, so, does anybody know?

Don't know much 'bout the V-dubs, but I think the Passat is a upscale/more luxurious/slightly larger version of the Jetta... Jsut like the 5-series BMW is to the 3-series or the E-Class is to the C-Class for Benzes...

Passats are bigger. And say "Passat" on them. Duh?
