Hmm, on Amazon France I see they already have Yotsuba volume 6.
So I ordered it, because goodness knows when - or if - it's going to appear in English.
I also found Le Mystere de la Chair, which translates as like The Flesh Mystery, so I think it's The Flesh-Colored Horror (by Junji Ito) which has been out of print for a while in English, and is expensive is you manage to find a copy. This was published in French this March. Seriously, English-speakers get such sucky deals with manga. ( again)
I ordered this book too.

Dark Horse never did push through with the remaining volumes for Museum Of Terror, so I'm not holding out hope for more Ito works.
Looking through Wikipedia, The Flesh-Colored Horror was printed in English, but it was from the old publisher of Ito's volumes for Tomie... not expecting any luck finding that.
On the Yotsuba volume, does that mean Kurokawa is getting the material directly from MediaWorks? The ADV situation in the US is still vague, but last I heard they were already selling off office furniture where their offices were located. Not good at all.

I have to agree - I prefer to read in English but I buy most mangas in French. I guess I am really lucky, Brussel's comicshops have really decent choices and decent secondhand editions. Their offer is often better than amazon.fr.
Currently reading the 1st volume of the spin-off of 20th century boys - 21st century boys.

I always thought Dark Horse wouldn't continue with MOT. According to the Same Hat blog, the 3 volumes didn't sell as well as hoped!
We can only hope that Viz will do something in the future - they reprinted Gyo and Uzumaki very recently. (Likely it's just wishful thinking...)

I dunno. I''ll examine the book when I get it. My books are not due to be dispatched for some days yet (grumble).
I'm hopeful Kurokawa are going to do volume 7 of Yotsuba, as it's mentioned on Amazon France. But we'll see.
ETA: hmm, just checked and it says available soon...but there's no cover art.

No but itLs almost.
Today I found out that Fnac, a store next to my work, rearranged their Manga section. I canLt find anything anymore and they got rid of the more specialised and edgier series to make even more space for Bleach, One Piece, Naruto et al.

Squee! Gomen.
I don't get the deal with those series you mentioned. They don't appeal to me much at all. Thumbs down for Fnac.
My books from Amazon France were shipped a few days ago, so I'm excitedly expecting them to arrive any day now.
*looks at previous posts* Yaoi? Hmmm. I tried a couple of titles, Haruka Minami's Love a la Carte and My Paranoid Next Door Neighbour by Kazuka Minami (both Minamis are the same woman using two names). They weren't to my taste. For one, there was no real storylines, and two, I didn't like how older guys were depicted virtually forcing themselves on younger, weaker guys (just the same as I would not like it if it was older guys and younger girls).
These two books were pretty spicy, btw.
But that's just imo.
Here's a link that may be of interest -

So they shipped Yotsuba& volume 6?
*looks through Amazon
Now it's listed as 'Out Of Print - Limited Availability'.
*shakes fist like senile grandpa
Those bastards!
As for current reading, I did get to finish Tekkon Kinkreet, as well as Monster all the way up to volume 15.
So the only thing left is both volumes of Cat-Eyed Boy.

Oh? Yotsuba 6 is still listed in stock on Amazon France.
I got my books a couple or so days ago! The Junji Ito book I found had one story I knew from the Museum Of Terror series published by Dark Horse - it was The Long Hair In The Attic. But the rest of the stories were new to me, and they were great! Classic Ito, I'd say. They are all from the late '80's and 90's.
I haven't started Yotsuba yet.
How did you find Tekkon Kinkreet? I'm considering buying it. I've read that it's short on text - is this so?

The Yotsuba volume is in French, though?
Tekkon Kinkreet's text isn't that much if you're talking about the lead characters, since they're kids. The exposition involves just the right amount of dialog, and the characters don't really go into very long diatribes to get their point across. There will be some chapters where there's not a whole lot said, but that's not to the whole storyline's detriment.
There's something quite cinematic about how Taiyo Matsumoto paces the panels in Tekkon Kinkreet, in that you don't feel like you're missing anything if there's very little dialog. Whatever's said in the manga is done with very fluid and visceral artwork, and somehow you might find yourself trying to pay more attention to the details since his panels are packed. The scenes just play out well enough to keep you moving and engrossed.
I find myself wondering how much better it would all look if it was all done in color, which is why I'll try watching the movie in a few days to see how close it looks to how it was laid out in the manga.

hahaha... i don't think so. isn't the shonen manga thing always like that? i somehow think there's still someone behind the akatsuki, sasuke hasn't become good yet (puh-leez, him = bad guy? so not happening. it's either he goes back to konoha or he dies with all the teary friendship drama), the sand folks hasn't joined the war, and the other konoha people like hinata, ino, etc. hasn't shown a thing.
it's heading towards the end... if 5 volumes is considered near |
i dont thing Sand would do any good anyway,I really dont think that Sasuke is going to become a good guy anytime soon,Well isnt Madara useing Sasuke anyway??? just to kill Konoha and get the other demon's??

o the sand are coming, they are . by the time the akatsuki arrive in konoha, they're gonna do the backup thing where all these people start coming out. yes Madara is using him, so Sasuke looks like the bad guy now, but i don't think it's gonna end up this way. It's either eventually Sasuke goes back to being the good guy or he dies a hero. it's the never-ending-shonen-manga-nakama-bullcrap. sign? naruto's tears come out
well, that's just what i think _________________

I can see that,Sasuke being a hero at the end and then dies,Maybe Naruto is going to be killed by Pain but Sasuke saves Naruto but gets killed by Pain, then Naruto goes crazy and kills Pain and the other Akatsuki Members but i also can see that a big fight of Naruto and Sasuke.I just hope there is a awesome ending of Naruto
