Erena Mizusawa, Koji Seto to star in "Koizora"

TBS' drama adaptation of "Koizora" now has its leads confirmed. From more than a thousand people auditioning for the parts, 16-year-old model Erena Mizusawa and 20-year-old D-BOYS actor Koji Seto were chosen to star in the series.
Originally based on a mobile phone novel, the story was turned into a hit movie last year starring Yui Aragaki and Haruma Miura. When it was announced in May that the drama version would have a different cast, producers were said to be looking for a pair with relatively little acting experience.
Mizusawa, a model for the magazine SEVENTEEN, just made her acting debut in BS-i's "Koisuru Nichiyoubi" drama program this past March. On the other hand, Seto has been with the acting troupe D-BOYS for about two and half years, and is currently gaining plenty of exposure as the hero of "Kamen Rider Kiva."
"Koizora" starts on August 2, airing Saturday nights around 8:00pm.

Looks like the real 'Koizora' is almost on the way out, but another 'Koizora' will be aired soon and I sort of can't wait for the show will get started in this summer.
I think that they look pretty good in this drama will be aired in a couple of months. But the only thing I am caring is that the storyline may make young people feel like they want to do something like a sex thing.
You will start finding out that many young people are now wanting to be loved by their families and friends, if not, they can't realize that they have a great meaning of being born in this world, and would do some bad deeds.
Haha... agree on the casting..if I were to watch the series, I think it will be for the story..I hope they don't rush it all out..I even had the urge to buy the novel when I was in Taiwan. ><
I read a few sentences, it was written in detail..I guess...
Oh I read that it is a true story..but how true? =p I am still skeptical about the story..in her whole life of senior high school, everything changes from the beginning she knew Hiro..

At first I thought this thread was Koizora the movie but then, why would a movie is included in Japanese dramas?? No wonder the two main characters look different
And the one who's acting as Hiro! No wonder he looks familiar!! He's in the group D-boys!!
By the way, I haven't watched the movie yet but already heard about how many people already(mostly teenagers)of course like this movie. But tell me anyone, is it suitable for under 18?? _________________

^ it depends how you take it..some may not accept it when I read at other forums. =)
But IMO the movie was filmed in a subtle way which I think it is still acceptable (I am an adult).
I'm getting the feeling that I might not accept it as I'm still a kid(haha)and don't really like romance stuff or love stories...but I'm also interested from what I've heard that many people cried over this movie.. Hmm... _________________
I believe you can watch 'Koizora' if you can see things in the right way. Sounds like you are going to give a try for that film, when you can find out that it's worth watching, as you really want to know how some teenagers are like in this world.

I agree. It's the mindset thing I guess. If you are open-minded and know what is wrong and what is right and in this world nothing is impossible, after reading Gakky's Enthusiast's post. =p
I guess more gals would love this movie than guys? =p Besides both leads are eye candies!
Hope to see reviews when comes 2 Aug bcos I still have reservations. Haha.

there's nothing much to worry about if you're referring to the adult themed scenes..it was actually portrayed in the most subtle yet direct way..

Singer debuts with "Koizora" theme
Sat, July 19, 2008 (12:59pm EDT)
23-year-old singer-songwriter Mai Fukui has been given a big opportunity. She will be making her major label debut with the theme song to TBS's highly anticipated "Koizora" drama series, which begins next month. The song is a ballad titled "Ai no Uta," set to go on sale on August 20.
Fukui sent out her first demo tape just last October, catching the attention of Avex and her current management agency. She moved to Tokyo in February, and three months later TBS offered her the chance to sing for "Koizora."
The drama version of "Koizora" has a different cast from last year's hit movie, with Erena Mizusawa and Koji Seto replacing Yui Aragaki and Haruma Miura. The show premieres on August 2.
