Howdy,
A question from a slightly different perspective:

Which Dorama(s) Do You Think Had The Most Addictive Start?

My personal vote goes to Beautiful Life. Right off the bat, from when KimuTaku gets into it with Tokiwa and then she gets out of her car at the library, I was completely addicted.

Thanks,
PCM

Granted, I haven't seen that many dramas, but the opening of Seikei Bijin where Ryoko-chan blows everyone away at the airport with that hot yellow leather outfit had me hooked for the rest of the series...

Yeah, I just reworded the topic question... hooked/addicted is what I'm trying to convey.

WOOoooHOoooo (Ryoko-chan at the airport) w00t! Lovey Eyes

Wow, was she strutting her stuff. Naughty

Yamato Nadeshika left me instantly in Love with Nanako Lovey Eyes so I watched the series in record time I also really liked the begining's of Mukodono and Love Generation. As soon as I watched the first episodes of those I knew I would love with the series. Mr Green

The best opening to a Dorama that I've ever seen was Tomoko's run for "Long Vacation".

That's the scene I always show people when they ask me why I'm hooked on Japanese TV.

And so far, everyone I've shown that opening to, has wanted to see the rest of the show.

Cripes! This question's a great one.

Let's see . . . before I leave for the weekend, pupus and drinks w/the fellas . . . let's see . . . I gotta' say I agree with pcmodem's aforementioned vote. A perfect J-dorama if there ever was one, from start to finish.

Odoru Daisousasen and Kintaro started off well. Love and Peace . . . and Dessin. Yeah, all strong starts and, incidentally, strong throughout.

Two shows that had strong starts but just TANKED after a certain point: Younger Men and Loved to Love.

OK, aloha, have nice weekend. An' no fo'get fo' vote, Americans!

I really liked the way Wedding Planner started. The way the wedding broke up and the reactions on everyone's face, etc...I knew this series was going to be a classic. And it was!

For me, I think Trick and Mukodono, and maybe Investigator Mariko sucked me in early. Trick and Mariko appealed to me because I'm a big mystery/medical drama fan.

i love this question! though it's a bit hard to answer because i simply cannot think of the opening scene of some dramas i love ^^;; but dramas that made me want to watch not because of the actors are the great opening ones.. like the first Trick and the opening monologue in Long Love Letter was great.. can't remember anymore tho..
