Dude your team keeps coming back
Ok that's it! 3 game showdown here we go!
We're sending our 3 best in Rueter, Tomko, and Schimidt. I'm most scared of game 1 since if we lost that then it's over and also Rueter is the most hittable out of the three

Pretty amazing, neh?
Giants have to sweep the Dodgers or it's all over....
Yea seriously, 2 games you guys came back. Since I live and die with the Giants, I'm going to have to say we're going to sweep you guys, but in the end, if you guys do win the division, I seriously have to tip my cap to the Dodgers. With those last 2 come from behind wins, that shows a lot of heart. Would be nice if both teams make it and meet in the NLCS

Down to the wire!
A's are tied with the Angels for the AL West Division Lead, and they face each other this weekend for a 3 game stand in Oakland. First team to win 2 games wins the crown.
Giants are tied with the Astros for the Wild Card. The G-men play the Dodgers down in Chavez Ravine this weekend.

This is the time of the season I love the most and hate the most.
What a couple of exciting races. _________________

This is it.... he'll either tie or beat Sisler's record tonight!
I was talking about Ichiro to a friend and some guy walks by and says "well, Sisler did it in much fewer games". But don't you think the quality of baseball and its pitchers have changed considerably since what...1937 (or was it 1927).

Go Ichiro! I hope he goes 5 for 5 tonight and breaks the record in style. _________________

It was 1927.
Yeah, I've been wondering if they're gonna tack and asterisk onto Ichiro's name if, er, when he breaks the record... The same thing happed to Maris when he broke Ruth's record... Some people can't let go...

That would be so messed up like what they did to that American player playing for the Kintentsu Buffaloes who was about to beat the Japanese record for most home runs...they intentionally walk the person to prevent them from getting the record.
But I would love to see him tie and beat the record tonight. Of course, I do agree with ESPN that it's a shame that the Mariners are not a winning team when he accomplishes this but nevertheless, it's been a long standing record and good to see him beat it.
I hope there is much support from fans in Texas like there were in Oakland for Ichiro... But I hope they don't boo him if he does beat the record. Show the man some respect I hope!

They'd be freaking fools if they did: how many people can claim they saw baseball history being made? I'd be cheering homeboy on...

Tonights game is in Seattle isn't it. There will be unbelievable support tonight. My biggest concerns about the record is that people will say that he hits too many singles. Not enough power. There is so many people that will find something to criticize about the soon to be Ichiro's record.

Though it's dubious history, I was at the Oakland A's playoff game where Crazy George invented the wave.
Hrm... oh yeah, I was at the Giants-Dodgers game to watch Barry Bonds steal his 500th stolen base!
Here's my dubious history story, PCM: I was at the Dodgers-Cards game in '94 ('95?), when the Dodgers had to forfeit the game 'cause a buncha stupid fans started throwing their freebie baseballs at the umpires... The Dodgers hadn't forfeited a game in 80+ years.... Whew.
