Ichiro etched his name in the history books on Thursday night, becoming the first major league player with at least 200 hits in each of his first four seasons. Next on his hit list: Ichiro has a shot at breaking the major league record for hits in a single season set in 1920.

Looks like his mini-slump is over. 3-6 today, I think. I hope he keeps up pace to break the hits record.

Ichiro Suzuki got his first extra-base hit in 10 games, an RBI double in the fifth. He went 1-for-4 and with 232 hits is 25 shy of George Sisler's 84-year-old season record with 18 games left...

Time's running out for Ichiro... Ganbatte!! Applaud

We dont have an MLB topic yet but I found this news to be hilarous from ESPN's headlines: Howe fired by Mets, effective at season's end

Full story here: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1882033

This was after I was watching sports center and how they kept saying the Mets don't even know how to fire their own manager correctly. Poor Howe, he should have stayed with Oakland. Anyways back to Ichiro! Big Grin

Yea I actually thought valentine was a very good manager. They just didn't give him enough players to work with later on after that one trip to the world series
