Quote: | there is news about China having a heated problem with Japan. saying that the Japanese govt changed the history books about WWII and saying that Japan did not really fight and kill so many Chinese. they just say that there was heated tension, so now the Chinese in China are mad and trying to boycott everything that is Japanese. but how can you boycott everything that is Japanese, when some of Japan's products are manufactured over there?? and the Chinese in China are so violent, they are beating whoever is Japanese over there. it's terrible. |
and they actually destroyed japanese brand shops in their OWN COUNTRY!! isnt it STUPID? plain stupidness is incurable..

yeah i agree with you. some chinese people can be very arrogant and stubborn. they just cannot forget the past and they are so unforgiving. it is very wrong that they take it out on young people. young people never experienced those situations, they should not be blamed or be involved in the nasty verbal fights and physical violence. it is very unfair. these chinese people make other chinese people feel ashamed to be a chinese. yeah, some chinese people really suck. hey and i'm chinese. not afraid to say that some chinese people are way out of line and are ignorant. this is the 21st century, people need to get over it and move on for goodness sakes! the worst is that some chinese people pick on other chinese. that is even worst. esp. the chinese communists who beat the sh-t out of their own countrymen. that is even worst. the chinese communists killed so many chinese people (their own kind), so how do they calculate that? the chinese in china are so violent. like one time there was a sports game and it was china vs. japan and japan won, so the china team beat up the japan team. that is not right. people need to stop this nonsense and violence. it is ridiculous.

Man. If the discussion thus far was a horse, allow me to pull up the reins and say, "whooooaaaaaaaaa."
I will say this:
War IS hell; and hell's always needin' to apologize. Other countries have admitted blame when they did wrong in wartime. Why can't Japan do it? Enough time has passed . . . and it can be concluded that they were wrong in a lot of their actions during World War II. Why are they seemingly excused from wartime apologies?
I agree, it's wrong, immoral, AND illegal to physically hurt Japanese contemporaries for Imperial Japan's atrocities.
Still, Japan has to face the fact that certain activities their armed services performed during World War II were just. Plain. Horrifying (there are certain black and white film footage available if you need to see for yourself). Japan's government should face up to it . . . or are they gonna wait for China's protesters to ask their own government to respond? Oh, no, no, no, maybe they'll wait 'til North Korea makes it public policy to ask Japan for a formal apology.

Well when the L.A. riots of 1992 occured after the Rodney King trial, the same thing happened: people got really mad, looted, and destroyed their own neighborhoods... Totally idiotic. It took nearly a decade to get things rebuilt and some businesses never did.

As someone who's studied Japanese history, I do think that Japan needs to give a formal government apology and it needs to present textbooks in a more truthful manner...otherwise it'll be a hatchet that'll never be buried. Although, I don't think even an apology would satisfy some Chinese right-wingers.
As for the Yasukuni shrine...since I know why it was created, and what it's for, I don't think it's any of China's business.
However, the recent behavior in mainland China can't be excused either. Especially since the Beijing government is allowing and fueling the current violent protests for their own political gain. Attacks against Japanese citizens is inexcusable and completely errodes China's "moral high-ground" in their demands from Japan. _________________ -=kitakaze=-

I think it is terrible what happened in China. Imagine being an innocent worker and having an angry mob show up because of something that happened before you were even born.
I don't think that the Chinese people should be blamed as much as the Goverment which has brain washed them and fueled hatred towards the Japanese (And other cultures too) using distorted media coverage and omissions from history books. To accuse Japan of whitewashing the past while ignoring what they did to Tibet and threaten to do to Taiwan is just a smoke screen. I think China will use the exscuse of WWII to dictate foriegn policy with Japan for a long time to come. _________________ From the Simpsons

if only there was a way to "erase" .. i would be the first .. people waste so much time hanging on to past ... i guess u should realize what was good or bad and move on ..
out here in france .. i hear and see the feeling about germany ..although everyone is together in EU ..and all is love and economy . but inside their is this "rememberance" of what happened ..
i guess it is a generational thing ... 2-3 generations need to finish from this face of the earth before new history becomes more relevant !!
hah well it aint any GOOD either i guess ..
