Visit her page at this site ... she is 171cm tall.

The anime character is Sergeant Keroro, or Keroro Gunsou.

There are subs that exist for the first two or three episodes, except it's much harder if you are watching it on TV.

Thoughts on 1st and 2nd episodes:

-Are they trying to push African immigrants as a menace to Japan? (I know the woman who caused Atsushi's papers to be thrown on the water by the little bitch girl wasn't an American because she wasn't speaking English, unless she was talking ebonics, which I try to avoid listening to).

-The guy (one of them) is not a police officer, in fact his cap says JR, meaning he's an actual railroad staffer. Notice also the train models behind him.

-Baseball and soccer nuts aren't much different from each other.

-Must... bitchslap... Shiraishi...

-I'll skip the movie. Yamada Takayuki doesn't look the part, and Nakatani is so OLD.

Drama version Vs Movie Version of Densha Otoko
Translated from Gendai Net

In the trend of low ratings for TV dramas, Densha Otoko is bucking the trend to hit past the 20% mark.

There are a few reasons to explain this as it is adapted from the novel and very close to what the movie version has to offer. As such, the drama version will attract viewers who find it troublesome to read the book or go to the cinema. In addition, the story being based on a true-life happening has thus attracted many people to find out more on this love story.

In terms of the movie, its adaptation is closer to the novel than the drama version and uses the actual words and characters typed by the characters. In addition, by getting Nakatani Miki to play Hermes is a good choice since she's always had that elegant lady feel and the character herself is said to resemble Nakatani in real life. Looking at the drama version, although Itoh Misaki is regarded as a pretty actress, the drama fails to bring out her wealthy background and create an air of elegance. This results in her difference with the Densha Otoko not being emphasized. In fact, Shiraishi Miho who plays a supporting role in the drama might be more suitable to play Hermes who is a rich man's daughter.

On the other hand, the drama version's lead Itoh Atsushi looks more like an otaku as compared to Yamada Takayuki who's too good-looking for the role. Simply by putting a long-haired wig, classes and dressing like an otaku does not bring out the feel of a true-blue otaku whereby Itoh excels due to his plain-looking appearance.

In conclusion, the movie and the drama each have their plus points but the common grouse for both is that Densha Otoko only managed to win his girl after going through a transformation and deserting his otaku links. It would be more interesting to see how he can court Hermes if he remains the way he is.

Actually, I don't think that was the intention. Yes, of course any non-Japanese--in particular, non-Asians--hold a certain amount of 'wow!' to a lot of people in Japan (including non-Japanese), but living in Tokyo, you will see thousands of non-Asian faces, and this is where this is set, I think. Also, she was speaking in Japanese, but since she was shouting (and most ironically in this case, "Ah! You pervert! How can you peep in broad daylight!? Just because I'm a foreigner you think you can come peeking in my windows! Get a life, jerk!" ), I guess it was difficult to understand her. If she was from Africa, I highly doubt she'd be speaking ebonics, which is a perfectly fine way of speaking if you really haven't got to be bothered with perfect English grammar, or don't know any, as is the case in the roots of ebonics when most Africans were not allowed to learn English besides command-form verbs and household chore words. Oh, and I think I've seen this woman on TV before (the non-Asian 'celebs' are very hard to find and few between) and I think I came under the impresson she was Brazilian.

But that's on a different note.

Oh, back to Densha Otoko--did you notice when he is trying to get a cellphone battery charger for AU that the guy in the convenience store takes like 50?! That man isn't just any extra or upcoming actor, he's a famous (moderately) host of a host bar; he's basically worth lots of $$$. They did a special on him, his cars, his filthy rich lifestyle and all the women who hang on his every word for just $400/1hr.

Thanks for enlightening me, Yume... yeah that extra who plays the charger-adapter reseller just relies on his height and loud mouth to get his point across, huh? A prominent bar host, you say? F@$k them. They belong in the reality shows!
