how common is it in japan to celebrate halloween?
how likely is it to be accepted/not accepted, and for which reasons.

"soft" halloween: pumpkins, trick or treat, spiders, lanterns, spooky costumes.

"hard" halloween: fancy graveyard, haunted props, skeletons etc.

guess it may puzzle neighbours in case there is no previous experience with a fancy graveyard.

for this reason, i would rather refrain from it than to scare the neighbours too much.

however, i have no idea how common/uncommon halloween is in japan.

Halloween in Japan is not like how it is in the states.

There are those who do dress up and do the pumpkin stuff however majority of people don't care. It's just like another day.

Oh yeah!
You can't forget the parties! Drunk
I think that's the only thing that's similar to the states, if anything.

Better make that 2 credit cards! God knows that 1 just isn't enough if the party is a 24hr party. hehe

Like everyone said Halloween is not that big of deal in Japan but recently some mall in Japan have started celebrating and some children dress up and go to them and trick or treat. p.s. you don't want to say "boo" to anyone in Japan because that translates to "fat" in Japan and they will be very upset at you if you go up to them and yell boo at them. Bah! might work a little better. Beaten
