Shuji's dad had to move from Tokyo because of his job. The whole family was unhappy because of the news, especially Shuji when the bond between Nobuta and Akira became stronger. Before christmas, asst. headmaster gave them 3 figurines, saying that if they have more than 2 of that, their friendship would last forever which resulted 3 of them to give their figurines up for others.
Shuji's dad gave him the choice to stay back in Tokyo, rent a small room and continue with his schooling. But Shuji after a few while thought it's better for him to move too because of his brother.
Akira didn't confess to Nobuta about his feelings Shuji was being straight to Mariko about his break-up confession.
It was Nobuta's idea that Akira followed Shuji to his new place - maybe because Akira's so darn rich that he could move anywhere he wants
At one scene after they moved, Nobuta laughed with Mariko. She rushed to the rooftop but stopped in the middle when she realized Shuji and Akira was not there to share the news. At Shuji's and Akira's side they saw a cloud with a laughing image. That's just one of the sign that their friendship bond are already strong. In the end during Shuji's narration - he believes that they could be together no matter where they are right now.
I just so love the scene when Nobuta was telling those guys about Santa came to her in her dream and about she passing the favour to Shuji. Santa came to his dream and he then passed the favour to Akira. Definitely cracked me up when Akira asked for CURRY BUN instead of making the circle complete by sending the favour back to Nobuta
I went through a crazy marathon of 1 day to finish the whole drama off. I actually love it when they all ends up as best of friends. Looking at them reminds me a lot of me and my bestfriends. They're both guys by the way so its kind of like seeing myself with them when I watch this drama - minus the makeover stuff

I like the scene when Akira Kusano wants Shuji and Nobuta call him with his first name. Since they always called him 'hey' or 'wait'. it is funny to see that shuji pretend that he doesn't know kusano's first name. and "Akira SHOCK"
Then, Nobuta call him "AKIRA" and shuji ask "Are you mad?" to Nobuta. since Nobuta called akira kusano less nice. I like the scene hehehe.
Are there any awards given to this dorama? Well, I think that this dorama is great...

a bit spoiler... the part where Nobuta said AKIRA... cos her tone was a bit strong, it sounded like she wanted to confront a person, so Shuji and Akira had a bit of shock,,, so Shuji actually asked her to call his name (Shuji) and her tone was different,,, Akira replied something like "how gentle...."

I love that part too and how Kame/Shuji went to do his sing-song voice on the name should he call Akira. I laughed my head off on the way Nobuta called Akira.

well, it won for best drama for 2005. i forgot from which award giving body. and also, kame won best actor from the same awards. here in jdo.com, it also won for best dorama, and lots of other awards. check out the jdorama awards thread.
Janoo, it's one of my favorites too. as proven by my posting it. haha. it's so hard for me to choose a favorite shuji line. i guess it's because i just love shuji, so everything he says is memorable for me. hehe. _________________

It's amazing how spending time with Akira and Nobuta can change Shuji. There was this part when Akira decided to leave the "Nobuta wo Produce" project and so the three of them 'separated', and then when Shuji started hanging out with his original crew his friends said he;s different from usual. And Shuji thought, "What kind of person am I in the past...?" I think it;s amazing how he can forget who he used to be because of Akira and Nobuta.

really poignant quote, isn't it? it's one of the reasons i love shuji the most. i was amazed at his character's transformation, how he changed because of his friendship with the two. sometimes i think the show was actually about shuji. hehe. _________________

well, he was after all the main character in the drama look how much he changed. But i still love Akira most despite his occasional flapping and soy-milk drunkenness

yes shuji is the first main character after all, nobuta is just the subject, and akira wasnt even actually an original character (but an excellent addition, imo) hehe i still love akira the most too. but ive been rewatching the drama and im really liking shuji's character this time.

from japan, canada, usa and england .
but most people are from canada.
so some have exams and some not because the university starts differently.
ours usually starts in january^^
I can't believe how popular this thread is...wowee, so many pages!! I'm just adding on to it to state my complete devotion to this series. I really love it, and it hasn't gotten tiring yet with all my repeated watchings. I just can't get enough of Akira! I love all the scenes with him and Shuji. Plus his mad karate skills. And of course, "Akira SHOCK" and "kon kon!" So many catchy phrases in NwP!
Though I do have one critique. And that is the end. I don't know about any of you guys, but something's just off about the end where Shuji and Akira are playing in the ocean, jumping on each other and splashing each other in their school uniforms. Ahaha. I suppose that's when Shuji is finally starting to act truly carefree. Nobuta should have come along too. :-\

Pretty powerful and memorable to me..
