He hung himself with a nylon rope! thats why they are considering it a suicide.
i used to collect his posters when i was younger (13-15 years old). and had the hugest crush on him. sad to hear that he died.

my only guess is that his career was not going anywhere. other actors that started in the business at the same time as jonathan were: leonardo dicaprio, toby maguire...who are big name stars now.
i also heard he was doing a pilot for CBS or abc here, when this tragedy occurred.
but this is only my guess of why he would do it.
Sad

Too bad. I liked him "Ladybugs" and "Sidekicks".

I didn't really care for "Seaquest" all that much though.

Ah, the pressure and "good life" of Hollywood. Does a lot to people who don't get their "career breaks" or "career duration" that they wish for.

May dude rest in piece.

I heard this news two weeks ago. I believe he might use drugs and cause halucination that led him to suicide. Remember INXS lead vocalist Michael Hutchence he'd done the same thing and that other guy in Brooke Shields' Sitcom forgot his name, he also hang himself. These guys used drugs.

You never saw the movie "Ladybugs"? Rodney Dangerfield was in that movie also.
It was a movie about a girls' soccer team. Jonathan Brandis dressed up as a girl to play on a girls' soccer team. Rodney Dangerfield was the coach.

"Sidekicks"? Chuck Norris was in that movie. He trained this kid with asthma who idolized him. Kind of like a generic "Karate Kid" flick.

"Never Ending Story". A boy who goes to some kind of "wonderland" with wierd looking creatures and ends up being some type of hero in the end.

"Seaquest". Boring @$$ series that aired on ABC (????) every Sunday night. (About 1994??)

"Celebrities Uncensored" just aired a small footage of him not too long ago. (1 week ago?) That's why I was suprised to find out about his death.

It is sad and i know these people must've felt hopeless and lost all perpective. But i can't help but feel that these people are selfish. I mean their mom went through the trouble and pain of labor and raise them from a baby to adult. This is how they repay them with more grief and sadness over the lost of their child? I believed that all of us at some point might feel hopless but the majority of us deal with it somehow. I dunno may be i can't understand what they felt at that time and i shouldn't make judgement. It the sam as Kirk Cobane of Nirvana. I hope they all find peace.

He did quite while when he was young but didn't managed to cross over from child star to adult actor.
His role in never ending story was also quite nice. But I think the past few years of having no major career breaks was a contributing factor to his demise.
