Finally, the official news is out
Takao Osawa stars in "Sakuradamongai no Hen"
Sun, February 7, 2010 (10:11pm EST)
TBS has not yet officially decided on a sequel or movie for the popular drama series "JIN," but lead actor Takao Osawa (41) is already set to star in another historical piece - "Sakuradamongai no Hen " by director Junya Sato ("YAMATO").
Based on the novel of the same name by Akira Yoshimura, the movie retells the story of the Sakuradamon incident in 1860, in which the Chief Minister Ii Naosuke was assassinated at the gate of Edo Castle. Osawa has been cast as Seki Tetsunosuke, a samurai of the Mito domain who led the assassination.
A large-scale open set was constructed for the film in the city of Mito, Ibaraki, reproducing the Sakuradamon gate where the incident took place. Shooting has already started and is expected to end in late March. The film's budget is estimated to be about 1 billion yen.
Osawa's supporting cast includes Masato Ibu (66) as Ii Naosuke and Kinya Kitaoji (66) as Tokugawa Nariaki. Toei plans to release the movie nationwide in October.

qnuy,
You made my day with these awesome photos. Osawa is really the perfect everything. I have a tug of war in my mind between him and my Takuya Kimura. I found Kimura before I saw Osawa in that very satisfying "Former Lover". I was swept away with those scenes and you know what I mean....
He really is so charming and such a good actor. It always surprises me that he is not way out there top of the world famous. Just the way he looks and smiles alone makes him striking.
Have to say that he makes 41 look so desirable.
thanks again qnuy..

I second everything that you said there Peggy
Kimura and Osawa are much love to me too. Those two age so beautifully
He blew me away in Former Love, he's beyond charming and perfect I'm definitely smittened both by his gorgeous look and his acting. Definitely a great actor!
He's a really good actor and seems to be selective when it comes to dramas and movies. Another underrated actor? I suppose not, but I don't think many people really know him because there are too many ikemens nowadays
And he sings and plays guitar too the way he held his guitar is enough to leave me breathless
I'm lovesick _________________

It was his first butai where he had to sing. Just like Shingo's Talk Like Singing, I think ^_^

He has released three singles if I'm not mistaken. His singing voice is just so so to me, but still enjoyable to hear
This is his first single I think. The title is RAIN

yeah, he doesn't really fit in musical stage play , but he looks kakkoii there
Quote: | You say you love his eyes. I have really tried to analyse his face. I wondered why I was so attracted to him and why just looking at his photo was so entirely satisfying. I like each feature. I especially like his mouth and the way his lips have a curl ready for that smile. However, I feel it is the total combination of all his features which make him irresistible. You really can't stop looking at him. His eyes are deep and have such a sparkle. |
it's actually difficult to pick which one I love best from his feature. He has a perfect face, beautiful eyes, a pointed nose (my friend said his nose is the best nose she's ever seen ) and those lips! omg! and he's quite tall for japanese men and good figure *sigh*
Quote: | I am so happy you started this thread. I never could find anything about him and now I feel quite alive with his photos. I was very happy with his role in JIN.
Peg. |
my pleasure
I'm glad I watched JIN, otherwise I wouldn't be this crazy, given the fact that I have actually seen him in some dramas and movies. Better late than never right? _________________
