From what I understand, isn't Uchiyama Rina in that show???!!
We have no such thing as "recent dramas" here in Hawaii. Usually, everything is mostly somewhat "older". (ex. we didn't get "Hotman" until approx. late Sept 2003. Same time as "Black Jack ni Yoroshiku" And Kiku TV was too broke to bring in "Good Luck" which I wouldn't have minded seeing again)

And over here in Canada, there are no such thing as Japanese dramas period. Well, at least on my local Cable TV provider. Just be lucky with what you guys got. Compared to me, you are in good shape.
Yeah, I think Rina Uchiyama stars in that particular drama. I'd love to see a recent Japanese drama on TV, unfortunately, there isn't much hope of that happening anytime soon.
There are Japanese dramas in Canada, it just depends on where you live in Canada.
If you're hard-core and willing to dish out the money, you can get Japan TV through the cable company. It's above and beyond the cost of your basic cable or whatever tier cable package you may have. Last time I checked, it was about $15 plus the GST/PST per month just for that one channel. And you do get more than just dramas...news, variety shows, music shows, etc. etc. (There is a rumor about something through the satellite companies...but I think it's just the same thing.)
The another option is to rent the dramas from a Japanese video/convenience store. There are plenty in the greater Vancouver area and I would guess that any city with a considerable Japanese community would have similar stores.
The final option is to go to a Chinese retail video store. I know this sounds weird, but any half-decent Chinese retail video store will have Japanese dramas either on VCD or DVD. The only catch with this is that you'll have to put up with Chinese subs.

Actually, here in Hawaii there are places where you can rent videos of current and previously shown dramas. However there are NO subtitles so you have to understand a decent amount of Japanese to watch them.
I just finished watching episodes 8 & 9. Episode 9 had me totally in tears!

ok that was a lot of Yamada Takayuki to see...anyways, he was a good actor for this dorama, he really matched the character from the manga, although I thought the scenes where he had to tear were a bit over played, but it could be the only way he could do it....
Also though, my mom was a bit off on it because this isn't how a "true" firefighter acts, my mom would know because she was one it Japan, I find it amazing she did so much....
Anyways this stories shows a lot of spirit and funny side stories....but I won't tell the story, watching it is better!!!!

He really does his cry scenes very well~
His tears roll down in a span of few seconds and they roll down beautifully
really suggoii
This drama really got me hooked, I recall watching it in a span
of 3 nights and even giving up my sleep time just to finish if off!!
Now that they are doing Waterboys 2, I wonder if they'll consider
a second one for this? Hmm, wishful thinking~~
Sample Clip Translation
Shirou: Where are you going? You can't go that way! Come back! Daigo!
Daigo: Is anyone here? Damn. I can't see anything.
Chief: That kid...?
Shirou: I'm sorry. I was supposed to watch him.
firefighter: Chief. We can't leave him alone.
Chief: That Idiot!
Mimura, she played Daigo's love interest.
I liked her, Takayuki seems so shy in front of her
She has new starring role in Autumm drama. Way to go Mimura!!
