See, this is the thing. I have heard plenty of actors say they will not watch their own movies because they will start to critique them. So, Vince Vaughn was on Oprah and she asked him, "How did you like The Break Up" and he says, "Oh I haven't seen it". Umm...then why are you here, telling people to go see it? Have some dignity.Bang Head Agh....anyways there are a lot of actors who do the same thing, and since Doramas are usually 5,9,10, 11 episodes, do the actors also watch them? Herefs a recent example; I was noticing how Kame and Misaki were on so many talk-shows promoting Sapuri, but have they really sat down and watched their own shows?

I have been wondering about that too. Bonk I mean, they should see for themselves if their performance in a certain drama/movie is convincing, and if not, then improve their acting skills further. Sweat

Do they have time? I mean, they should take the time. Has anyone seen a show where the actors talk about their acting or their costars?

Why should they? I don't understand what the problem is if an actor chooses not to view their own show. It's their life. I mean, I don't like bringing my work home either, but I'm not an actor.

I remember John Lennon once said he never listened to Beatles music because, "I'm too close to it" what he meant by that was he would think "We could have done this or that better"

They sometimes watch the raw footage after a scene. Since every actors aren't always in the same take, they don't see the whole show. If it was me, I'd watch it to see how the others performance, but like said, for them it's work and not entertainment.

There's even this guy who was on this drama, I've forgot the title, about cake and strawberries. After watching an episode at home, he couldn't stand it anymore and "fell" off his balcony. j/k Bleah

LMAO!!! ur talking about Kubozuka Yosuke in strawberry on the shortcake right? LOL!! yes he "fell" off his balcony... he's lucky he didn't die but if he was planning a suicide then it was really poorly planned! hehe rofl lol!!

as for actors watching their own dramas i dont think most do because they dont have the time or simply dont want too... but some actors (and actresses) do watch their own dramas/movies/concerts (concerts and movies sorta fall into the same category as dramas)

i know that sakurai sho from arashi rented out a theatre with the rest of arashi to go watch hachimitsu to clover (honey and clover) in theatres which is sho's newest movie and the group is planning on doing the same for kisarazu cat's eye (sho's other movie) and boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru (jun's new movie) and i know that arashi watch their own concerts too... (sorry for rambling only about arashi but i'm obsessed with them Sweat )

as for other actors/actresses i'm not too sure but most dont have time to watch their own stuff like i said earlier

I don't think they watch their own dramas or movies. I wouldn't do it either in their place.

I'm just thinking that with anything, if you want to improve yourself you need to see how you are doing in it. When you write an essay, and get it back with a low mark you want to see where you went wrong. Seeing where repeated mistakes are will limit them in the next essay and so on. As with acting, if all you see is the raw footage then how are you supposed to see the completed picture and see how well your character flows? As well, my BIGGEST BEEF with actors who do not watch their work is how they go about on talk shows plugging them, even when they SUCK. Please, I Know it's sometimes in the contract, but have some dignity and don't give face to a show, just for the sake of it.

yup... but i think that the main reason they rented out the theatre is so that crazy fan girls dont surround them and jump them instead of watching the movie...LOL!!!

arashi is really close to each other so i think that they like to support each other which is why they go to watch each others movies together... but even if it did suck i doubt they'd say it out loud

I don't think so. Great acting was around prior to the invention of TV playback, even on old live TV, and in the old movies, and in the couple of millenia before that. A good actor doesn't necessarily need to see themselves in order to give a good performance. Yes, I'm sure it's a very useful tool now that technology exists that let's them do that, but it isn't necessary for an actor's art.

Well, that's really the director's job.

They are really brave. If I were in their place, I don't think I would do the same.

what do u mean brave? brave that they went to the theatre and risked getting run over by fan girls? lol!! or brave that they just went to go see sho's movie even though it was a risk that it could have sucked and they would have wasted their money!! rofl LOL!!

i think they're all so sweet!! i think that it's great that they support each other so much!! it's like they're family but closer!! Dancing

i think most of them don't.. they probably don't have time to watch..
but i think they would watch other artiste's works.. especially of actor/actressess they admired... so as to learn and improve their acting skills...

First off, they're both actors. They do only what the director has told them to do. The role of the director is to make the film/show in his/her vision.
So I don't think it's the actor's priority to watch their own shows.

haha this is interesting. i read jwebs about some JE artists who do watch their own shows. but then again... the more seasoned actors prolly dont because they also just dont have the time!!

if i were an actor.. or if i was like on tv for whatever, i dont think i'd wanna watch myself. just like how i hate hearing my voice on the answering machine... lol XD
