I think so, unfortunately. However if you use BitComet (or similar) you can choose to d'l any of the files in the torrent, e.g. episode 1 which is a 'mere' 733MB.
My broadband speed doesn't exactly break land speed record either, and it usually take me a couple of days to download a typical episode of any dorama.

There was a special feature aired on the same day of episode 1, as well as the actual first episode.

a lot of j-dramas coming out are off Manga's....a lot don't do well....like Nurse Aoi...didn't do well in ratings...
but this one..i haven't seen it, but from what i viewed so far.....I think Juri is a fine actress and fits the role quite well.....storyline seems intriguing as well.... |
That is true but Nodame is a very popular manga in Japan so I sort of expected a different reaction to this. Plus, I was genuinely surprised at how closely they followed the manga in the 1st episode. Most of the time, manga-turned dramas did really bad on the ratings because they strayed too far away from the original source. Those alterations to the original manga's plot ruined the whole drama, and put off many true fans of the manga. I, for one, would be very pissed if they decided to change the plot to fit their scheduled episodes. I was so glad that was not the case in the 1st ep.

Thanks so much for sharing, I'm downloading it atm. There were so many great pieces in the 1st ep, I esp. like the Pathetique piece. To be honest, reading the manga really inspired me to go out and seek for those classical songs. It was amazing how the manga can change my point of view on certain things, and I used to hate classical music with a passion, lol. _________________

You are welcome. I'm not much of a manga person and have watched a number of manga-turned-dorama (such as Ns' Aoi and Iryu) without referring to their roots. In the case of "Nodame Cantabile" I made the effort to seek out the manga (will be getting them in a few weeks) because I wanted to see how well Ms. Ueno acts out the character. I personally think that this doroma will please its manga fans because the music described becomes audible - that's why I love it.

I went through a 'classical period' from my teens. Even though I'm now more of a 'soundtrack' person nowadays I still classical music. "Nodame Cantabile" has chosen some of the most popular pieces available and it is great to listen to them again.

That was the piece of music I uploaded - the 2nd movement (Adagio Cantabile) of Beethoven's 8th piano sonata in C minor, aka 'Pathetique'.

It was an MP3 file. I just played it again on WMP with no problems. Maybe you encountered some problems downloading? It was a biggish file - about 13MB.
