I think they used Eagles version. I didnt give it any attention when I was watching Santaku New Year special, but I remember Sanma played old 70's songs in the car while Kimura was driving and this was one of them.
Maybe you'd like to try listening to it on radio.blog. I checked and they have a list of various versions of it. Happy listening!
Just finished watching episode 7,8, and 9 in a row.Wow,this drama is so great and touching! From the preview of the last episode, i think i will cry in the end of the series.argh.. i can't wait for the final episode!

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow
Don't you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet
Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get
Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late
Just watched the final episode on tv and i cried like crazy.Oh God!Why?! I don't want to spoil anything. However, i must say that i was pretty surprise by how the story turns at the end of the drama.I couldn't help thinking of its ending. It made me conclude that this show was really.....very....heart breaking!!

*Waves*
A chingu loaned me this drama and I was literally blown away...i am a self certified SUPER Korean Drama addict...but have been watching Japanese Dramas on an off with the great WHITE TOWER and PRIDE being my fav.....until now.....Karei-naru Ichizoku aka The Grand Tribe...
Below what I had wrote in a forum of a fav. actor of mine...So Ji Sup...my chingu PEGGY staying in USA is a great fan of Takuya Kimura....
************
So unexpectedly, turn of events, while at local CD shop, happen to SMS a dear chingu *Winks* on what Japanese Drama to purchase because *coughs* Korean Dramas on local Malaysian shelves...I have nearly all...*LOL* I got hold of LAST Christmas and Crying Out on the Centre of The World....Watched the former, sweet and nice and watched 1 Ep. of the latter...aigooooo it was rather good but I stopped because...this one, heart must be ready for I know flooding of tears is inevitable..! And couldn't find KUROSAGI - black Swindler aiyah! Then whatdayaknow....met a new Soompi K-Drama pal and whilst laughing away on what we are watching now, she said I've gotta watch TAKUYA KIMURA'S new drama......and I did and was TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY........! Through the roof and beyond....
This is one extremely GREAT drama and only 10 Episodes...so powerful, intense, breathtaking, masterfully crafted in the storyline, script for me was simple yet clever, great acting from EVERYONE, the cast was FAB, a serious drama set in the late 60s.... Every episode held me so at the edge of my seat, every episode the story had such unexpected twist and turns that took my breath away and at every episode TAKUYA KIMURA just climbed higher and higher in my books.. WAVES PEGGY!!!!! YOUR TAKUYA KIMURA HAS DONE YOU AND me *COUGHS* SO INCREDIBLY PROUD!!!
Some at first glance might find TK's pretty boy great looks at the source of female adulation...but *MOVE OVER* critics if any....TK has come of age as TEPPEI MANPYO in Karei-naru Ichizoku a.k.a. The Grand Tribe or Splendid Day...was the man to watch besides the man that acted as his father DAISUKE MANPYO
It also had very good following in Japan with a viewership of approx. 30% and just ended....there are English subs available to be downloaded and drama started to show on Jan 14, 2007 just ended not long ago to fantastic reviews etc.... more information can be found though not much in English in Soompi and Jdorama at below links:
Just the first Episode alone held so much that made the FF key a non entity...I marathoned everything till Ep. 9 on the Saturday afternoon till night....and Ep. 10 was passed to me this morning and the 90 minute special finale had me crying buckets and buckets and had me clapping at end...for such a great story been so well played out....
They filmed it in Shanghai and Tokyo because of the end 60s background set.... I wish you all would watch this.... SURE my first love is Korean Dramas but once in a while the Japanese come up with great ones too...White Tower and PRIDE comes to mind...and between them Karei-naru Ichizoku The Grand Tribe comes up TOPS, no fight....it's that great..for me and I think it would be too for alot of you..... check it out...AJA
