Been thinking about this one for a while...

What's your favorite quote from a dorama?

I'd have to nominate:

"Teppei. Sukebei." - Matsu Takako as Riko in Love Generation hehe

Teppei --> Beat You <-- Riko

Nominate your favorite quote! w00t!

"Onna no kachi wa otoko no katsu." - Tsuboi Chinatsu from the Shomuni trilogy.

(For Japanese-illiterates, it means "A woman's worth is determined by how many men she has.")

I don't know Japanese well enough to not pick something out of a subtitled show...but I do remember something from Musashi. It's not a catch phrase or anything, but towards the end of Musashi, he utters something like "I'm looking for some strong men."

I'm sure it sounded fine in Japanese, but the way they used it in subtitles got a laugh out of my friends. It kind of reminded me of the Dreamcast game "Shenmue"..."I'm looking for some sailors...have you seen any sailors around?" Translation can be everything sometimes.

Are you kidding? The J-dorama quote . . .

"Ai wa powaa dayo." -- Fukada Kyoko, To Heart

It is so true. Victory! Peace!

Great topic, by the way.

"Sumire is a nice name" -"Sumire-san, Sumire-Chan . . . . ." [Takeshi Goda; Matsumoto Jun]
"hey!, Hey!, HEY!! Mad " [Iwaya Sumire; Koyuki]
