We all know how much some of the top hollywood actors/actoresses get, around 20-25 millions per picture. The cast of Friends get 1.25 millions per episodes.

I know Japan have a smaller market than America, but I am just curious, the top actors/actoresses in Japan fair out to actors/actoresses in America.

Anyone have any idea how much the top actors/actoresses in Japan get paid?

what about someone like Kimura Takuya or Noriko Fujiwara.

$40M USD sounds a little more reasonable, but that's still a lot of money... Smile

Is that a lot for an actor/actress in Japan? We don't have a reference point...

Sigh, Ayumi Probably makes average around 50million consider most of it get taken away from Tax. Also I hear she buys a lot of properties to reduce her tax. So She might be around 40million. Still 40million isen't only from Japan. She is famous in China, and almost throughout asia.

We're talkin' Yen, right? So that's around $370K-$400K USD...

those figures have to be YEN. the biggest US stars make around 1 MILLION / episode. I can't imagine some Japanese actors getting 40USD MILLION for 12 EPs.

only a select few (the ones with drawing power) make USD 20-25 MILLION a movie. Most average around 8-10 USD Million a movie.

the fiqure is in Yen. there's no way a Japanese actoress made S 40 millions.

The US domestic box office for 2003 is about 9 billions USD, Japan top over a 1 billion.

People let do some research on the average J actor salary.

Heh, I wonder what's up with Yutaka and Takashi. I guess they got new flavors of the month now huh?!
But heheheehehehe, KimTaku is making peanuts compared to everyone else!!!!!! And Smap is not even on the music's top 10 list.

I wonder why Ayu is making the most? Her voice is not even near the others. More or less her "plastic" looks.

Holy Toledo!

So in otherwords, in Japan, you should focus on being a musician/singer instead of acting????? Isn't that kind of backwards in the U.S.?

In comparison, here's a list of the 20 highest paid entertainers in the U.S. a few years ago:

4. Oprah Winfrey $125 million

5. James Cameron $115 million

6. Tim Allen $77 million
