Ok guys, like I promised you here's the report of the concert. This will be divided into two parts. Here's the first since I haven't finished writing the second Sweat

Part I

On January 12th I went to L'arc concert in Osaka-jo Hall. It was my first L'Arc concert so I was HYPER, when my friend informed me that we couldn't get a seat and the tickets were only "tachimi" (it means you're standing in the back of the back-most row, a plain sucker, cause you must be at least a few hundred meters away from the stage).
When I arrived there at 2 PM, some tachimi people had already lined up from early in the morning to secure their place. After lining up for 2.5 hours in a freezing winter day it was such a huge relief when we finally made up to the hall. From the place I was standing I could only see the giant monitor and barely the stage.
The stage was adorned with bright red curtain with giant letters "Theatre of Kiss" and the tour -icon, flaming lips sticking out a tounge, fashioned its top middle. The set stage gave the impression of an opera theatre. There were two giant monitors located on each side of the stage. Osaka-jo Hall is a round-shaped building with theatre seats surrounding a flat arena below and can hold more than 10,000 people.
The concert was supposed to start on 5 PM but not until 5:20 PM that the light began to go off and people started screaming. The show was about start. 2 bunnies appeared on each giant monitor quarrelling about when and where they were and what the noise was all about. A minute later they disappeared from the screen and emerged from each side of the stage (the kind of trick you used to see in Academy Award). They approached one another and later jumped into a hole located at the front center of the stage.
The curtain rose to reveal glittering lights of many colors and Seventh Heaven kicked in. The guys looked so good with their outfit. I noticed Hyde had a new haircut while Tetsu had braids with red feathers (like the one we saw in Seventh Heaven PV). The song was an excellent choice to begin with since it kept everyone excited. Everyone sang along and clapped, it was such a wonderful atmosphere. I jumped up and down while trying to sing along, it was so much fun. It was good that Hyde didn't do his awkward dance routines
The second song was a surprise, the bunny played a familiar tune on a piano. The crowd recognized it and began to cheer. 'And She Said' was playing. "This song is a very old song, isn't it?" a friend asked. "Yes, indeed." I hadn't heard the song for quite a while so it brought back memories.
The next was Killing Me, the background displayed a moving carousel that ascended to the sky. Hyde and Tetsu moved around alot. Hyde reached out to the audience on the left wing and was greeted with complete frenzy. They managed to touch him and some of them even managed to tousle his hair and messed it out. But he didn't seem to bother, even let out a big grin while kept singing. I envy them T__T
Toward the second verse of the song, the bass tunes suddenly changed and New World began to play. Hyde drank from a bottle and threw it to the audience in the arena. After the end of the verse "I'm awaken in the new world..", Hyde took a short pause and suddenly a sound of an engine roaring in the background. It was time for Driver's High! The audience went into hysteria. Everyone threw hands up together during "Crash!!.... into the rolling morning...Crash!!" it was so great being there and helped created such atmosphere. I'm sure any performer would appreciate such gesture from their audience.
The medley took a long pause for a speech. Hyde welcomed the audience "Irasshai..." he sounded as if he was having a sore throat. He seemed to struggle with his voice since it sounded lower and heavier than it normally should. Too bad I didn't understand most of what he was saying but the audience cheered and smiled during the speech, so it must've been quite entertaining. It lasted for about three minutes and then the medley continued.
On the background a torso of a female puppet master was displayed, Tetsu and Ken were standing at the end of the strings giving the impression that they were the puppets. The stage went dim to give off a gloomy atmosphere. During the chorus, the backlight lit dramatically and hyde slammed his microphone stand. It was amazing...The medley carried on to Promised Land and As One. At the end of the latter, they took another pause and Tet-chan took his turn.
He stepped up and walked about playing his bass with a banana, he threw some to the audience. He gave off a solo play which extended to Stay Away. Everyone sang along "Maybe lucky..maybe lucky..I can say I'm lucky..." and clapped together toward the interlude during which Tet-chan played his solo part. It was AWESOME... Yuki suddenly changed his pace into Heaven's Drive opening but that was it, and the medley was closed with hyde singing "Kuchizuke o kawasou...."
The next song was the one I hardly heard of, I was struggling to remember what the song was. Turned out it was Bye Bye. The first time I heard it was from the Yoshioka rip so it sounded a bit different. After that Spiral was playing, with winding spiral displayed on the background.
After the performance, the light went dark and it was time for commercial break. It was HugxHug Le Ciel. It was one of concert merchandise. As always, L'Arc's commercial was quite random featuring pole dancers -__-;
The next song was one of my favorite, Daybreak's Bell. At that time the LCD display screen went out to reveal bars and scaffolding on the background with intermittent flashes from light bulbs on the back. It was simple yet intense performance.
After that Alone en La Vida was playing. The monitor screen displayed a purple afternoon sky to give a serene atmosphere. During this song where hyde was supposed to hit high notes he seemed to struggle even more with his voice. But that didn't let him run off focus. From the giant monitor, I could see that he poured all his emotions into the song that he looked overwhelmed. At the end of the song, his eyes were all watery and he wiped it before tears fell down..Trust me, seeing it live is WAAAAYYY...different from watching on DVD. You can feel all of this emotions and energy coming from the stage and the people that were watching. I was overwhelmed.
The next was my most favorite song of Kiss album, Sunadokei. The stage went completely dark with dimly spotlight on each members. I love this song very much and I was carried away I felt goosebumps allover and choked a few times. On the second day of the concert where I got the chance to see them closer, I even sobbed during that performance. It was THAT beautiful.
The next piece was Umibe. Before the concert I never liked the song very much. But it all changed as soon as I saw it performed live, especially during the chorus. If Sunadokei got me choked, this song has been haunting me for a week!!! The set was still dark and a holografic image of a mermaid appeared at the center of the stage, floating about, drifting, just behind where hyde stood. I was impressed by the compelling "..namiutsu sunahama e to.....kaerou" it sounded like a spell. I still can't get over it even it's been a full week now. This song has the strongest impact on me than any other songs.
Charmed by the performance, I stood still while Ken-chan began to play another piece. I noticed that Ken-chan's guitar notes were always high pitched, it extended to the intro of My Heart Draws a Dream. On the background cloud was drifting fast. It was a beautiful performance. Everyone sang along to "Yume o egaku yo..Yume o egaku yo.." and once again I felt this wave of energy running through me. Everyone put their hands up swayed it back and forth. I was so carried away...

-to be continued.-

what a perfect time to make a re-entrance.

Tadaima~~.

@planethyderainbow & kisarazu: I'm here now. I had a deadline rearing up, rite till just now. (I have just sent the work via e-mail to boss). Another problem is my one and only wisdom tooth is causing me so much pain. I'm still in pain even now, and have to take painkiller every six hours. Shameful Cry My dentist appointment is three weeks away!

@Kisarazu: Hello! *throws a week-old confettis* Welcome back!!

@Ryuusei: What a magnificent report! I read it slowly, coz I'm enjoying it so much. Looking forward for the continuation.

You kiddin' me?! ENGLISH SoNG?! LARUKU?!
Simon will kill them one by one with his own bare hands!
Much to my admiration to their music skills, their english sucks! (Hyde might be a better speaker, but still.... not gonna pass Simon Cowell).
I can imagine vividly, Simon would say with his private-rich-english school-boy accent, "Stick to the Japanese, boys. That's where you're good at."
And if I were the judge, I'd perform a seppuku (harakiri) before they even finish the accapella.

I just took a painkiller. I won't be feeling any pain in the next six hours. hehe

I'm sure you've heard the cover version of Careless Whisper by Hyde. He's struggling to pronounce the lyrics.
Hyde sings in french?
I care my hearing more than I care to hear Hyde sings in a language other than Japanese. I think I'd skip on that one. Mr Green

ask them to sing french songs, they'll kill more than your pain.

Japanese is a language that has different phonetics, and have more limited phonetics than English. that makes it hard for them to pronounce English properly.
for example: Station is pronounced in english: seh-tah-syon.
compare with the japanese adapted pronounciation: su-ta-jyon.

I wish I were an english teacher for Laruku. I'll smack them with a ruler bar everytime they make mistakes in pronounciation. I'm a devil in disguise Yeah

speaking of devils... what happen to Devil May Cry single?
I kept on reading posts that say they are having order problem.
even Jpopsuki (usually very fast when it comes laruku single sharing) has no trace of Devil May Cry single.
Is the single really hard to get? I never browse HMV or yesasia, or other vendors, so I couldn't tell.

Thanks for the compliment. I'll think about it, if I were to consider a career change. Bonk

Maybe it's because there are two groups of fans buying the single. I mean, it used to be L'arc-en-ciel fans, solely, buying their singles. I doubt there'll be other people who'd pre-order l'arc-en-ciel single before it was even released.

And now, it's L'arc-en-ciel AND Devil May Cry video gammers are pre-ordering the single.
If so, no wonder DMC (sounds like a name of a car manufacturer hehe) single is sold out way before its released date.
